So I had this whole Cyclone bash thread written out, but before I decide that I actually hate it, which, so far, I do, I'm gonna ask for help.

I don't get the post set-up. My air holes are directly across from each other on the top cap. I do not have the Cyclops model. With the air holes directly across from each other, how am I supposed to cool the coils off when they sit where they sit? Not only that, but it also seems you absolutely have to use micro coils (because of their size) to avoid the coils making contact with the top cap. I tried 3 different builds, two of which were contacting the top cap, and none of which lined up with the air holes, before I got frustrated and threw the thing across the room.

At least it's durable.

I am incredibly dissatisfied with the product. As of right now, I would have rather wiped myself with that $70 after taking a big runny dump.

But that's why I'm posting this thread. What have you guys done to make it work?

Edit: Might also be worth mentioning that one of the allen screws was stripped out of the box. Took me twenty minutes to get it out of the freakin' post, no exaggeration. I replaced it with an RM2 screw, which, unfortunately, only works on the shorter post because of its length.

I thought the standard cap was a single airhole. If you bought it new, who was the vendor? Have you tried discussing your issues with them? Sounds like you paid for new and received a used one.

My Cyclone only has one air hole in the top cap and from what I have researched that is the way they are supposed to be. Maybe as sbmqcy suggested, contact the vendor on this one... I can't even see how air holes directly across from each other would work for duals in this atty because the posts are set to one side of the atty... They would have to be offset by say 45 degrees from each other!! Did you get it from someone in the classifieds or on Ebay? Something sounds off with what you received...

to do a second hole it can't be directly across from the first one. looking down from the top one hole should be at 4 o'clock and the other at 8 o'clock, not at 3 & 9

duals should sit like this

but you should be able to move them forward a bit to line up with opposing holes, something like this but shorter coils both pushed forward

Did you drill out a second air hole for dual coils? If you did, the two holes need to both stay a little off center toward one side.

If you are using a single hole, the air flow is fine as it passes directly on the coil or under it depending on how high you set the coil.

As for the small deck, it contributes to having a smaller chamber thus more flavor. It also is makes it small enough to fit on a standard REO grand without milling and assists with juice sucking back into the bottle. I agree that it can be a bit more tricky but I have no problem building sub and standard ohm coils with 28 gauge kanthal.

You want to build your coils so they sort of form a V
The air holes aren't opposite of each other so what you wanna do is this

The lines are said air holes -\/- and the back and forward slash are the coils obviously the air holes aren't straight like my little fail diagram but you get the idea technically you want the coils to have one longer leg and one shorter which leg depends on where you like to place your airholes
