The Philly Board of Health recently withdrew (i.e. killed) its proposed regulation to require tobacco retailers to post health warnings after I and others informed them that it violated the Federal Cigarette Labeling and Advertising Act, and passage of the proposal would result in a lawsuit against the city that it would lose.

The group of folks at that anti tobacco meeting (in the news blurb) had lots of anti tobacco opinions, but little or no understanding of scientific, public health, legislative or legal issues involving tobacco.

but can i vape in the park? im about to go to the meeting tonight and vape my ... off.. any one with me?

The Philadelphia Board of Health specifically exempted e-cigarettes from their (now dead most likely) proposal to require warning signs in places where tobacco products are sold, so it's unlikely they'll include it.

I do, however, encourage you to go to the Smoke Signals meeting tonight. I attended one in the past, and would go tonight if I didn't have class.

I have urged the Board of Health and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health to support a ban on e-cigarette sales to minors, or in the alternative pass a recommendation that the City Council do so. No action has been taken.

If they actually propose banning pharmacy sales (which will certainly include smokeless tobacco, and they may fold e-cigarettes into that ordinance) I will attend the public hearing to speak out against it.
