Nope, but after 10 months browsing and researching (including a bit in Afghanistan) I finally wanted to post and couldn't.
Come on it is only 5 posts.
I have already learned so much just lurking and searching threads. Went from ZERO experience apart from a couple Blu e-cigs I picked up at 7-11 to running a mechanical mod pretty smoothly . . . so far at least.
Every forum has its own rules and the amount of information and expertise on here is worth a short probationary period in my opinion. Take a deep breath (or hit) and enjoy yourself.

You probably could have posted your question here and got the required information.
Vendors also have their own websites that probably have 'contact us' buttons, phones numbers and email addresses.
So while you are sitting over there outraged about the 5 post rule, we'll all be over here helping new members quit smoking.

So in your 10 months of research you never came across the 5 post restriction? By you mentioning Afghanistan, I assume you're in the military? Air Force? As a military man myself, I find it hard to believe anyone that has been to a war zone would whine about something as trivial as 5 posts on an internet forum.
Well this rather silly complaint gave me a chuckle this morning. It is amazing what some will cry about. Maybe it is my age but wouldn't it be kind of customary to introduce ones self when joining or wanting to participate in a group? I don't know, be polite and say Hi, I am here cause, blah blah blah. That alone would have garnered many responses within a few minutes that could be replied to to get those very demanding five posts here before moving on. Maybe ask your question here? I don't know.

Edited to add... I think I made my 5 posts in about ten minutes or less and never looked back. Their five post rule here is nothing. I was/am a member of another forum and they only allow 5 posts per day for new members. I can't remember how long that restriction is in place for (been a member since 2005), but I know it's for a few days. That would really piss you off, wouldn't it?!!

Howardforums does indeed have some'at over one million members as opposed to ECF's measly 220K.
15.3 million posts across 1.8 million threads as compared to ECF's
13.3 million posts across 0.5 million threads.
Any who know me also know I have no math ability. At all. But.....
Seems to me that a membership of about a fifth the size aggregating close (roughly) to the same number of posts within a quarter the number of threads is prolly having more fun doin' it!
Time for more coffee. I almost made sense to myself and that's frightening.

And I see a few others just throwing rand stuff here for the same reason.
Only other forum I've ever seen so restrictive is a tech support forum for a prepaid phone that moderates every post before 5, and PMs which really sucks as you come wanting help as they support people want to use PMs.
So there are thousands of little threads all over from people just trying to get enough post through that they can respond to the tech's PM.
