Stupidest question ever - where is the checkout on the home page?

it should take you to your cart when you add something to your cart, and then show you a checkout button....are you logged in?
if it doesn't take you to your shopping cart automatically, there's a little picture of the shopping cart in the upper right under the search box on any page...click the shopping cart and then you can see the checkout

My screen is the same way
. You can adjust the page size for your screen, mine is set at 125% so the print is larger so less fits on the screen.
On a windows machine, holding Control and turning the scroll wheel will zoom in/out.
