Ive been vaping for almost a year. I made the mistake of sampling flavors on a friend's sub ohm tank. Never thought I'd even consider it but here I am. I have a greenvaper urock 20W mod that I've been using with hbc tanks w/ 1.8 coils. Then I just got the heatvape invader mini for outdoorsy stuff. It's 50W with heat control. I've been using the same tanks with it just messing around for a couple days. Clearly both mods have so much more to offer. If i were to move into subohming, is there a set up that would work on both? Should i just look at 2 different ones?

20 watts is pretty low for sub ohming. The heat vape should be fine, but your other mod (I've honestly never heard of it before) most likely won't work. Good luck either way, but the heat vape would do best with a tank that has temp control (ni200) coils readily available. I'd suggest the subtank mini and a pack of ni200 coils.

For that sub-ohm feels I recommend going in with at least 30W. First mod won't cut it unless you go in with a 0.7 coil. Even then, 0.7R @ 20W is only ~3.75V.

The Subtank OCC 0.5 coils work great at 25-30W. If you want to try the Atlantis V2 coils the 0.5 works great at 45~50.

Subtank is probably a better bet. They have nickel premade coils (but I think they only come in 0.15 = ~2.74V @ 50W ) for your temp control, and you can always rebuild the RBA using Ni200.

Tshoffner, I found that with my eVod set, I was more prone to mouth-to-lung vaping. With my new setup, I am doing more direct lung vapes, which I find is a bit more harsh on me, causing a bit of coughing. I'm used to it now and producing crazy vapor clouds (to me anyways, lol), but do you think that may be the reason?

Vaping for two months. Went into b&m couple weeks ago for an upgrade, they sold me heracles sub ohm tank , didn't tell me about lung hits, I didn't know. Good thing I still had my nautilus tank, went back and forth for a wile, love blowing those clouds once in a wile. Took a little getting used to, now I don't use anything but the heracles tank .

The kanger subtank does work at lower watts, but I found I kept getting burnt tasting hits and went through a couple coils, then saw a post describing same problem saying they need a little higher wattage to keep the juice flowing. Turned up the wattage to 24 on a .5 coil and burnt taste went away. I was using max vg with airflow wide open cause I like an easy lungfull. Maybe 40 vg or less with less airflow would work better under 20 watts.

I run the SubBox on 18-22 Watts (depending on Juice Viscosity) sportin' the SubTank Mini loaded with the .5 OCC and find it to be quite satisfying. I use Mt. Baker 50/50 12-18 Nic Juices mostly Fruit & Desert Varieties.
Not a "let-down" nor leaves me lacking when that Rig is more preferable due to where I'm at/what I'm doing compared to my usual ADV Rigs (UnReg Mechs and RBAs).

Not yet. I definitely plan to but since normally Vape an RDA on my ADV Mechs, I haven't had the need so the desire has been lacking as well.
Imagine when the OCC and extras I bought with it run out, then necessity will pull my Trigger to do so.
When I do build it, my Target will be my usual .45 ohm but will fudge down Lower if necessary. Will use 28 ga if have to-26 ga if can get away with it given the Deck space available. Imagine it will be quite nice and I will find the Performance to be even better than the OCCs which are still fine by me as is.

Per SteamEngine; a 4/3 Wrap with 26ga on a 2.35mm (3/32") Bit will yield a .45 ohm.
That should have no issue fitting on the SubTank RBA Base w/Chimney Assembly.
Prefer to use larger Gauge as it is easier to build, lasts longer, and provides more Surface Area.
Ta-Da and there's the Ticket.

But,,,, it may well be an issue. No idea till actually give it a whirl.

atlantis also has premade nickel coils i believe and many more are probly coming soon.
