Hello, i have been vapeing for about 5 months now and have decided i am going to try a sub ohm setup and
want to see if i have this right for others to check out before i set it up. i beleave i have done my homework , i want to try
it out but want to be safe also. I will be getting my mech mod in few days , so this is what i got .

AW 18650 - 2000mah at 3.7 volts

this battery has a 10 amp rateing , i have read as long as u dont go over 80% of the amp rateing , you should be ok
so useing the ohm calculator , here is what i got

i want to build my coil to 0.5 ohms

my aw volt is 3.7

that would give me current/amp discharge of 7.4, which would be 26% below the max of 10 amps

and give me a total of 27.4 watts

anyway just wanted to make sure i understood this correctly and if there is anything i am missing or any suggestions that be great.

thanks !!!!!!!

A fully charged battery starts at 4.2 volts and this should be used. When using a mechanical and voltage drops below 3.7 you notice a drop in performance so change it then. When you check battery charts the total mah doesn't matter but how long it holds voltage over 3.7 volts does. So the AW IMR 1600 holds voltage above 3.7 longer than the 2000 mah, plus the 1600 is a 24 amp battery.

I like a safety margin of 30% so that's a .6 ohm coil on the 2000 and .25 ohm coil on the 1600.

You also need to balance airflow with lower ohms as you go lower you'll want more airflow. What ohms are you used to vaping? what rba will you be using?

ok sounds good , thanks

as far as wraping , i am used to doing micro coils , about 8 wraps, useing 28 gauge

i would need to do a standard wrap with i am guessing about 4 to 5 wraps, does that sound about right

If you're going to do a dual coil setup, you can try 7 or 8 wraps of 28 gauge in a micro (x2). That, when connected in parallel, should get you to about .6 - .7 ohms (basically, half of what each coil would read individually). Remember to meter it first, before going 'live', of course.

Here is a little chart for batteries and their limits for reference

If you decide to go lower ohms you will be able to choose a good battery

Off topic, noticed your name, are you from Bama? If so where?

Sent from the far reaches of somewhere I don't know but it's fun!!

ya i dont have one yet , i do need to get one. was planning to use my svd to test ohms
Most regulated device won't measure sub ohm. Because they cannot fire it, they typically show it as atty short. the eVic I used to have would not read below 1.1 ohms.

And yes Micro coils and sub ohm work great together

my evic reads all resistances- down to 0.2 ohm...it will not fire below 1 ohm stable
svd, vamo as well read all resistances, just wont fire it
i use them daily as ohm checkers
