So I've always had a Nautilus, the Naut Mini, and Silo. They are pretty much all I know. I usually do 1.8 coils, use 12mg nic juice, and life is good.

But I had to see what sub ohming was all about. So I just got an istick 30, with an Atlantis tank. I got my usual juice (Space Jam Eclipse) in both 3mg and 6mg, just to do some experimenting, since I've heard you need to step it down for this.

I've tried both, and this ish is terrible. It's like not even the same juice.....it has this funky taste. Note, it's not burned- I made sure to take all of the steps to get the coil wet. I knew Nicotine had a flavor, but this is a joke. Will I have to find all new juices to Sub with?

What PG/VG ratio is that juice? I'm not familiar with it as I don't really care for tobacco type juice.

I also use 3mg, and 6mg nic levels with my Atlantis, and when I sub ohm in general using RDAs. I try to find juices that are 70VG+, most of my ADV are 80VG.

I don't think I could handle anymore PG with an Atlantis, I would probably hate a 50/50 blend in it.

Running at different (higher) watts can bring out different complexities in ejuice I've noticed. That is probably at least part of it.

Yeah, it is a new coil, and I haven't put much juice through it mainly due to the funky aftertaste. I guess I'll solider through and see if it gets better.

I'm pretty sure Eclipse is 50/50 ratio. Interesting....more VG, hmm. I'll have to order some Heather's samplers for my fruit juices and do some experimenting. This is gonna get pricey. Thanks.

And I just took another few hits. It's like it's so sweet it's nauseating. Is that too much PG?

drysprocket, you've just discovered the problems with commercial e-liquid. The same liquid that tastes great in a clearomizer can taste awful in an RDA & vice versa. The density of the vapor is usually a tell-tale sign. When moving from my ProTank2 to RTAs, I found higher VG liquid was much better to my liking (70%+ VG). PG just tastes nasty to me. The quality of the manufacturer's nicotine can also make a difference. I got so frustrated trying to find juice I liked for under $20/30ml that I started DIYing my e-liquid. That was almost two months ago and I haven't looked back. The process can be frustrating, my friend. But hang in there.

Try popping the 1.2Ω coil in your Atlantis and see if you don't like that better.

VG is actually sweeter. I've found Space Jam likes to over flavor their e-liquids for the sub-ohm drippers. Running 100W through an RDA has a tendency to cut flavor. Tastes great in a smaller clearo though... You can also get some plain VG from Walmart or unflavored e-liquid and cut the Space Jam so the flavoring is not as strong.

completely agree with this statement 1000%

i had a cousin visit up from Texas last week totin a Plume Veil rockin 0.15ohm... ---- see i already recently cut all my juice from 12mg down to 6-8ish, i tried my juice in that freshly wicked veil... Clouds yes, flavor was gone and so was half of the throat hit.

normally my juice is running in an Erl at 1.5-1.8

So it's a whole new path on this journey, this has definitely got more interesting than I was expecting.

Ack, thanks aldenf. This is a rude awakening. I think I'm gonna give up on ever subing space jam. I just tried the 6 juice on my Naut Mini, and although I can taste a difference from my usual 12....it vapes great. This stuff is just not meant for subing. Damn. I'll try some higher VG juices and report back.

how many watts are you running it at? I haven't tried the atlantis yet, but maybe try starting off around 15w and work your way up to what tastes good?

Also, have you tried the new bottles of juice in anything that you're used to using? Just to make sure it's not the juice itself?

Good call, I just tried it, and it's not the juice. Or it is...depends on how you want to look at it. They just don't play well together.

I wonder if I should just cut my losses now- I already have 40+ bottles of juice that I need to do something with, and I don't think any of it will work with the Atlantis, Nic level alone. A cautionary tale everyone.

You could always try diluting it some with pure VG, I do this with my higher nic juice if I decide I want to drip it regularly. It adds some viscosity, and makes the flavor more subtle, which is better for me when I'm running lower resistance.

I agree. I'd slowly start diluting it to get to a flavour/level you're comfortable with so that way it's not wasting your money. Pure VG will lower the nic since it's sold as 0mg but then again which would you rather do - toilet several bottles or dilute it to something you can use and move on? :)
