I have Parkinson's so I can't build. I used an atlantis. taste was good. tonight I got the subtank with nickel. I set it to 500f and 26.4w. it does not taste burnt at all. it just tastes lousy. not at all reminiscent of the flavors in the atlantis. it just does not taste like the flavor. kind of plasticky. it tastes strange. it has a huge throat hit which atlantis has almost none. did I set it wrong, does this thing just suck or what the heck? it is never hitting tc on me so I do not have that problem I guess. it seems the longer I draw the worse it tastes. not burnt though. maybe I am tasting the cotton for some reason and should not be?

help please! I really need this to work I paid way too much at a b&m and I don't wish to just toss it after 1 hour. I did prime it and let it sit. taking time between puffs. I hope I did not just waste $$. I am guessing it is set wrong,i hope.

this is one time I would really appreciate your folks help.

thank you! I totally forgot something! she pulled this coil unwrapped out of her backpack and gave it to me. I bought two packs anyways. I guess for the price they knew I might not buy coils lol. so maybe that is a bad coil that got knocked around. also if I let it sit like 20 min the first puff is good.

I will turn down the temp. what wattage should I be running?

26.8w at 460 works. I was sure this was a setting. she said run it at 500. it still does not taste as good as the atlantis. or maybe it does but I am not used to the actual flavor. it is good now though. you fixed it! at 500 is was sizzling lake bacon. even though a new atlantis coil or nautilus coil does that I figure that will kill the life of the coil. not to mention taste rotten.

I guess that is about as far as you can push this thing. strange that atalantis works good at 4.7v. I am running about 2.35v on this. onr question: why does it say .14 when it is .5? I guess nickel operates differently and does not function at 4.5+v.

thank you.

hey it tastes alright now! I guess I just have to get used to the difference. it is a harder hit but not as mellow. the flavor does not jump out, more subdued. I can dig this though!

I posted what ultimately happened in the ni200 coil thread. it seems I actually needed to go way higher. tastes real good.

I went back and double checked and it appears the Kanger nickel OCC heads are .15ohm, which makes sense because a .5ohm coil wrapped with nickel would be HUGE to get the resistance to .5, so your reading is within normal ranges.

Nickel coils run much lower resistance than Kanthal but with TC resistance doesn't really matter anymore.

The standard Kanthal Kanger OCC coils come in (i believe) 1.2ohm and .5ohm.

I actually found it is working great at 560f and 35w. go figure. I know no one runs that high but it is kicking it down to 21-18 watts.

I had a question. the rba is tiny. how many turns would I use on it? my friend said he would make like 20 coils for me to screw in. the coils are $$ here. I just like to do business locally but it is no wonder b&m can't stay in business.
