Yes. I apologize for the run-on. I was using my phone to type. Anyways, I formatted it properly now. Hope it would be read better. Yes, the aspire atlantis was genuine. Even the coils were genuine. But I'm really spooked. I'm not even trying to promote Kanger, but just trying to save lungs from those silica particles.

Then tell me why I got a genuine product and still my throat got sore? There are other vapers who got this issue too. Probably they are duds but I'm not going to suffer my throat again.

Aspire isn't even sure what the ceramic is. There's a thread on the subject somewhere...

You lucky. No, I wasn't spamming. I would never do that. I am a honest person who got spooked. Did you know that the Aspire Atlantis coils were banned in the UK? That raises questions.

read the link i posted. dont know if there could be dust or something from the ceramic, but the ceramic is totally encased in cotton and is also blocked by a screen. so how are you getting actual full pieces of wick spit up into your mouth?

There's supposed to be a screen in there to catch the chunks of baddies. Maybe they forgot to put the screen in yours...

Here we go...

I don't see why the ceramic paper is necessary. It would seem a piece of silk or cotton cloth
would wick to the cotton just as well.
Moreover, I don't see how rebuilding the coil would help unless one also replaces the ceramic paper.

I have a similar problem with wire mesh on drippers.
Not that I suck up little pieces or anything but I do get that awful metallic taste.

Give me cotton or give me death!
I feel the same way about underwear and shirts.

I think it was a marketing gimmick. Ceramic sounds special, but maybe fiberglass wicks really well..

I'm off cotton. Well, American cotton tee shirts are great, but PRC cotton, no thanks. Mystery textiles for underwear- I'm all over Under Armour...I read some studies about why so many babies seemingly are developing respiratory issues and cotton baby wear made in PRC may be the culprit...

Alpaca fiber is the way to go for vape wicks...

The cool thing is that Aspire actually responded to the concerns of their customers and are now offering the all cotton heads. The problem is if a vendor chooses not to disclose whether the coils are original or the new ones there is no way to tell, I assume they're doing this to protect the vendors from having stock they can't move. All the new stock is all cotton though, you just have to find a vendor that either moves a lot of coils or chooses to differentiate between the two.

Another blow for BUY AMERICAN MADE.
Now, I really think the respiratory issue is an epidemic and has little to do with cotton or is restricted to the baby population.
Since they (Big Brother and his cousins) started chemtrailing there's been a major rise in upper respiratory tract infections, asthma and the like.
I won't get into a rant about chemtrails 'cause it has nothing to do with e-cigs and somebuddy might get peeved...

Tell me about Alpaca wicks, Steve. Will Lama work as well?
My mom has this Llama wall hanging she promised I'll inherit..

Meagan,
Is that all cotton as in all cotton or do they still use the ceramic sleeve?
The Aspire link Steve posted shows the ceramic sleeve.
Seems to me the culprit is the ceramic sleeve. OK, get rid of the silica but if they leave the ceramic sleeve
that the OP was complaining about...then what the hey, same diff with better taste.

After reading the topic about the ceramic coils in there, and seeing the break aparts, I never bought any of that nautilus stuff.
And the chromed over brass chimney chamber in the nauty worried me too. Seeing that chrome flaking off.

Now, I won't buy their product at all, even if fixed, because i feel they lied about it in the first place

I understand the Joyetech Delta II as well as the subtank you mention offer Japanese organic cotton (premade) + rebuildable decks.

Thankfully, unlike 2 -4 years ago, vapers have a LOT of choices now, and can use whatever gear they like and feel safe using

So thanks for your thoughts, glad you found something that works for you. :)

These were the original topics --- you can always count on some vapers to "hold manufacturer's feet to the fire"

Remember it is up to you, you have CHOICE as to what to buy and what risks to accept. That is different for each of us. :)

Hazy,
The new coils are supposed to be all Japanese Organic cotton, I emailed Kidney Puncher who is selling them and they also verified they are indeed 100% cotton. I ordered a package and they're on their way. I will most likely sacrifice the first out of the pack to the Vape Gods to verify for myself they're legit.

Meagan

I love the way you write as if your sending a letter.
You're singing my song with all the chemtrail talk BTW :D

Yeah, I can't help it- love my under Armour...

Something about chemicals which make the cotton really soft for baby wear... You know water bottles are why so there are so many ambiguous 'men'- like Justin Bieber...

I'm not sure, are Llamas in the same family as Alpacas? Alpaca fiber is incredibly heat resistant- the most of any natural textile, wicks like a champ and is easy to work with...
