So here's the deal. I buy an ego one but later upgrade to the subox mini starter kit for reasons here: eGo ONE, problem after problem. | E-Cigarette Forum

...leaking being the main reason.

Problem hasn't been solved with the subox mini. Even after upgrading to max vg (was using 50/50) and changing to the horizontal coils instead of vertical (I read that this could stop leaking) i'm still having the same leaking issues.

This sucks because it restricts me on just throwing it in my pocket and taking it with me, resulting in a 'stay at home' vape.

My question is what do I do from here?

After switching from 50/50 to Max VG I'm still having leaking issues, but now I have dry and slight burnt hits when I chain vape. I'm assuming this is from the thickness of the fluid not been able to move through the cotton as quick as the 50/50 stuff? (Never had an issue with dry and burnt hits before) I've even brought the wattage waaaay down and still have the same issue.

Should I switch to a RDA? I don't really want to do this as it means carrying a bottle around with me as well as the vape... but if that's the only option. Or should I switch to a different tank and atomizer?

Either way I cannot afford to buy another mod (if that what the battery pack is called) so I'll have to stick to using this one.

I'm still a noob so any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

The o rings are in there, I haven't replaced them so I don't see how I could be using them incorrectly. I have noticed sometimes fluid will seem to get below the bottom red oring. I've always assumed it's leaking out of the atomizer though.

When I fill it I usually fill it just a little below the top of the center tube so I don't think I'm over filling it.

Coil head Must be good and snug
Tank assembly Must be good and snug.
ALL Seals should be wetted with e-liquid before assembly to avoid stretching issues.
Any coil that is producing Dry hits should NOT be causing a leak - its fluid weak.

A tank that is not sealing properly can Both exhibit dry hits and leaks. This is due to pressure loss.

SubTank is not a problematic tank. Being new to Vaping and the intricate workings of devices creates the problems.

Watch a few Youtube videos on the tank and review your procedures a bit. you will solve the issue and the tank will become a daily user.

i don't know if that is necessarily abnormal - just took a look at two of my subanks and i see a little juice below the oring inside the glass on them - but no leaking issues - i don't think that is where issue is... looks like you are using original style (horizontal) coil in that tank currently - may be worth taking tank off and taking coil out to make sure that the o-ring on the bottom of the coil is intact and not crimped or compressed - overtightening the coil in the AFC base can cause the oring on the bottom of the coil to be damaged or deformed - which could lead to leaking... if it is borked, you might be able to swap o ring from a different coil (or take one off of a dead/ used coil) and see if that helps

On rebuild deck, I'd blame leaking on wicking - on stock coils, tho, it almost has to be from the seals. Try - on your next fill, take a paper towel and wipe around the oring before you screw the deck back in. Doing it that way will leave the bit of juice "under" the oring you need to not crack it, but will dry the "top" where it needs to seal against the threads. Also as said above, make sure your coil is screwed tight, and when you close the tank up, hold the metal top of the tank to tighten, not the glass. If that doesn't fix it then heck, take it to a local vape shop and ask them to look at it. Doesn't matter what shop, any decent one will help you out. Good luck!

As an intermediate get-you-thru-til-a-real-fix... Close your airflow when you need to pocket...will help minimize leaking...when you reopen it, blow it out a bit before you hit it, any flooded liquid will come out the air holes and you should be good for a bit...keep your airflow more open than you have been, if possible, it'll make you pull less juice into the coil than you have been... that's all I can think of!
