First of all, if you are the low life who thought the ivp d2 with the white subtank mini in the red pick-up truck was your and you took it from me, I hate you. I hope the drip tip comes off and you choke on it. I spent like three hours trying to wrap that twisted coil and got it right for the first time you dirty piece of.... Sorry, I'm still a little mad. Needless to say I just had to replace this setup and got a new subtank mini but I think something is wrong. The rda section has no holes and no screw in the side to hold it together. It looks like the juice feeds in from the bottem part the screws on. Is this an older version or what. Oh it's the stainless model not the white one that came in the subox kit. Can someone tell me what I have, and the next time you see some one with a D2 with a subtank on it ask them if mine and tell them I would like to have it back.

Yes it is the earlier design.

I find the earlier design does not leak; the later design, so far seems to leak for me, but maybe if I get the wicking right there should be an improvement.

The earlier design uses juice channels, as was the kayfun design of rta's when kayfuns came out.

I wish I could get my hands on the old version, my v2 rda leaks too after a day of use.

Does it feed as fast, those channel holes look kind of small
It feeds just fine as long as your VG isn't too high. I use 65 VG in it and can chain vape no problem. It's all about how you wick the V1 to really make it shine. Lots of people have modded theirs but I find it unnecessary.

I said the Exact Same Thing when I got my 1st Subtank. And for my High VG DIY e-Liquids, it was right on the threshold of Dry Hitting.

Luckily, the Fix was Very Simple. And that was to take a Jewelry File and to Enlarge the e-Liquid Slots by about 50% in both Width and also in Depth.

I've searched everywhere for the V1 subtank RBA, including fasttech, saw they didn't stock that. I have the same leaking problem with the stock 1.2 ohm coils and the rBA with moderate to a lot of cotton wicking. My style of vaping at low power with 70pg/30 vg juice likely makes it easier to saturate and leak, but I'm going to give that method of wicking you linked to a shot, thanks zoiDman.

No Problem David.

To be Honest with you (having come from the Clearo era) I can't think of a Better way to Wick these new Style RBA Sections. With the Exception of doing what I Posted in that thread about putting the Cotton Scraps inside the RBA Section.

70PG:30VG is going to take some Trial and Error. Because everything Now is geared towards Higher VG. So all the e-liquid Opening are Bigger.

Another thing you could do is to Roll the Dice on one of these Clones.

They have the Original Style RBA Section. And the Reviews are Not that Bad.

I think the anti-V2 sentiment in this thread is a little misleading, the overall consensus is that the V2 was a big improvement over the first deck. Fortunately the V2 deck is sold separately, so you shouldn't have issues finding it if you want to, it'll fit in the stainless STM just fine, they didn't change any of the tank specs for the mini, just the coil section.

Hey awesome links, thanks Zman! The prices are right, and hope they keep the same V1 deck before I order. I'm about to go wick a kayfun lite V2 clone I got last week, first build on that one.

Like I said, No Problem David.

I have kinda gone FT Subtank Crazy. And have a Top Fill and a 2ml Suntank Clone coming.

I know Many People slam FT because of Shipping or Whatever. But I kinda like them because for their Prices, I can try More Stuff.

And if something Doesn't work right, I'm not out an Arm and a Leg. And can usually Scavenge parts from One to use on Another.

I agree FT has good prices, and if you're careful, read the reviews, and choose wisely, good quality as well. I've made two orders, and I was one of the people worried about the latest mail service issues FT was having, my first order got here in four weeks, but my last one with my KFL V2 looped around twice through their mail processor, and I was wondering if it would ever come - it did, 6 weeks later. I love the tank though! Here's some pics in this thread:
