Curious, is that a crack that I see forming on the insulator? On the left side?32 gauge twisted wire, .9 ohms

Right in the middle of this enlarged picture? Someone had a clear insulator break in that same spot and suffered a major short.

No crack
Just some piece of lint the camera picked up
I love that twisted wire! Is the overall concept of the twisted wire being that you can use smaller gauge, wrap less wraps and still have a "low" resistance?
for example (just using FICTIONAL numbers), using twisted wire 32 ga with 6 wraps gets you .8 ohm vs that same 32 ga NON-twisted wire would be like 10-12 wraps to get the same resistance?
I guess wrapping my head around it (pun intended!), since smaller ga wire is usually easier to bend and wrap then your larger gauge wires are, then using a twisted wire would allow you to use smaller gauge (easier to work with) but still get into those low resistances without so many wraps. Is this correct thinking?
Wrapping a twisted wire is actually harder then straight wire, when you twist it, it becomes a bit springy

The sub tank minis came with peek insulators already I thought. My full size sub tank didn't, but I don't like the airflow on that one so I only use occ heads in that any ways

When in the process do you burn (temper) it?, or does it even matter?
The clear one was supposed to be peek but whatever it was made out of it was too brittle. There have been breaks that resulted in shorts but thankfully everyone was using protected batteries so there were no battery explosions; that I've heard of anyway.
