I posted about a week ago in here pertaining the My7's Hybrid Vision disappointment, and now I have a nice little story behind it.

I started on the 7's KR8's which weren't bad at all, but didn't get me off of analogs. I upgraded to the Hybrid Vision kit, which includes 2 650mAh 3-piece midsizes (these are My7's attempt to stay in the vapegame). They're sleek, but there was a huge void in their overall performance. I stopped smoking analogs with the help of this kit, but I still wanted more, so I joined these forums on the pursuit of knowledge.

When I purchased the 7's kit, I did not know that I needed to semi-frequently swap out atomizers (especially since they aren't rebuildable, they're proprietary and are ridiculously overpriced). I burnt through the one that came with the kit and soon ordered 4 new ones from the website. When they came in, they seemed a bit different. The metal tube that slides into the 'air chamber' to seal up was about half an inch shorter. Also, the wick almost nonexistent. After vaping a few days on it, I noticed that the ejuice was just seeping out of the atomizer into the battery. This was causing it to misfire, then chug all of my ejuice, overheat, and just cause a large amount of disappointment. I kept trying to be happy with this thing and at the same time read so many poor reviews on it, and just couldn't take it anymore.

After doing enough research, I went to my local tobacconist/cigarstore (that is slowly getting in a lot more vapegear) where I purchased the 7's kit and try to return it all for $80 store credit. Luckily enough, they had My7's atomizers (fancily packaged and all) that I could compare to the ones they sent me in front of the store clerk. He had to call his boss to validate a return of that size, but he also mentioned how My7's are going the way of the dodo since they are selfish and poor to deal with business-wise.

I was scouring the walls of large tobacco bags and hookah parts when the Joyetech eVic caught my eye. I was originally looking for another midsize, specifically a Kangertech EVOD, but with the $80 store credit I happily gained, I bought the eVic for the remaining $20. The clerk threw in a clone cartomizer with a free bottle of store-made juice for the troubles.

I'm having such a better experience with the eVic and can't wait to slowly build my juice/tank collection up.

Any other success stories that might be on par?

No success story on par with that, but the eVic is AWESOME, congrats! I have been using mine for the last 7-8 months daily and it has not let me down yet. I love it. I have discovered, however, that the 11 watt limitation on the VW settings is a problem, but ONLY when using a dual coil head (I just started testing one of these). Otherwise, it has been fantastic.

Enjoy!

I see. I have read somewhere earlier from an article a few months ago that the eVic's software was actually jailbroken. This would allow the ceiling to be lifted for the wattage!!

Just remember that any jailbroke item voids any warranty

If you see any posts about eVic's coming out with a headphone jack for mp3's be warned that was just a nasty rumor started by some riff raff (wait, I'm riff raff - doh, caught again)

but in all seriousness you will much prefer the eVic over the previous device you were using

next step - go online and order a protank or a vivi nova or a iClear30 tank (I recommend discountvapers)

and did you say the smoke shop (not a true vape shop) was making their own eliquid? Are they listing the pg/vg ratio? and the nic levels? and ask them where they are mixing them at? (I heard a story last night on the Jeannie k show that she ran into a small independent shop where the guy says he mixes eliquid while on the toilet! eeewwww, I mean peeeuuww, I can just imagine how crappy that eliquid tastes. s&*t for brains - ok, I'm done)

anyhoo, glad to see you got sorted out ok and I am impressed the shop took that kit back.

Yup, well aware. Although currently dormant, I am normally active in the iPhone jailbreak community. Never going to jailbreak my eVic, just heard that if possible, could lift the ceiling.

About the smokeshop, their eliquid does not list the PG/VG, but the clerk was very knowledgeable about it and told me it's 50/50. We were about on-par as far as vaping terminology goes so he checks out. The nic level was listed as well. Not sure as to where it is made (I highly doubt on a toliet), but I do not plan on purchasing anymore from them, as I want to try higher quality / more notorious and recommended brands.

They had 'Vivi Novas' at the smokeshop, but I feel as if they were clones. They did say Vivi Nova on the side, but it was typed in Arial typeface which seemed kind of generic. I've been using one of these with my eVic: Kanger EVOD eGO Bottom Coil Clearomizer

Now after reading a note on the website, it says to use a 510->eGo adapter, but this clearomizer fits on the 510threaded eVic perfectly? Any advice? Since I believe I have a clone, it might be 510-threaded, but it fits perfectly and I've had no troubles whatsoever with it. It looks exactly like the one in the link above.

EDIT: It looks like I have a Kanger MT3 clone that is threaded to 510 instead of eGo. Is that even a possibility?

My search for something missing brought me to the Provari, and the rba's. First rba was the Russian, that filled in the something missing and discovering the something more. Started DIY juice and the search for even more rba's. I then started to explore the world of mechanical mods, bought the Nemesis, kick 2 and the Aqua rba. Then I went sub ohm on the Aqua and then searched for more. Bought the Flash-e-Vapor V2 rba/rda. My search for something missing has delivered me from smoking to becoming a vapoholic, build my own, make my own, cloud forming vape maker. Love what one can do with a bit of wire and cotton, some glass ware, nic, vg, pg and flavor extracts. No fear of ever picking up a smoke again, have found total vape satisfaction.

That was a pleasure to read. I bet I find myself where you are in a year or so.
