I've made a few posts in here because I have been battling back and forth on buying a reo. This is my thing, i'm new to all of this.. using a VV 3.0 and PT2. I don't know if i'd enjoy building coils or not. I might just want something I can drop a carto on and go to town with no maintenance. With all of that I know the reo is very convenient with the bottom fed bottle. Then you have the other side of things, which is a carto tank which is also pretty much hassle free. What makes it even harder for me is the cost of this initial setup. Not only do you have to purchase the reo at $144, you have to buy batteries, wire, wick, atomizer, cartos, and a charger, that price just goes out of control. Obviously if I ask is it worth it in the reo forum i'm going to get an overwhelming number of yes haha. I guess i'm in the same boat as wickedsauce(lousy army pay.) Would I be better off just getting an mvp2 and a carto tank? I've been fighting this battle in my head for the past week or so and it's driving me nutty haha. Then with cartos though I don't get as good as a reomizer or something of that fashion. I'm losing my mind, it's definitely time for an upgrade from my current setup which I am bored of. I just can't figure out which way to go

I had precisely the same setup as you do now, and I also went MVP v2 and cartotanks. I got fed up with the fiddy-ness of protanks and other bccs, and I couldn't get cartotanks to feed all vg juices properly. I ended up burning through cartos like crazy. If you want to duplicate my process entirely, the vision aurora bft is what pushed me towards bottom feeders. Try it. It'll fit on the end of the vvv3.0 (albeit approaching light saber length). I think they run about 20. The outstanding flavor and the convenience of a bottom fed tank, along with the lack of leaks, pushed me to the reo.

Ymmv, but my suggestion is to lurk the classifieds. I scored a mini 2.1, rm2, batteries, and a charger as a package deal. The other possibility is, as suggested, getting a blem. That's how I got my grand. Good luck to you on your search!

And if you don't want to rebuild you can just get a bunch of low resistance attys... though nothing is as satisfying a coil you built yourself. I'm telling you the reo is other wordly. If your single cruddy military pay or not make it happen, one or two weekends of not drinking should cover it well for me when i was single. Lol... but real talk... i never thought a vape could be this good. I can't compare it to anything... you heard about my ....ty week... this reo has had me distracted, hell id consider an aer loan for one of these cuz not having one should be an emergency...

I'll try to give you as unbiased opinion as possible. I loved using protanks. I loved having a bunch of juice on hand in a tank that I could pick up and go with. I didn't like having burned coils constantly. I couldn't rebuilt them to save my life, and was going through coils at an alarming rate. I had quite a few vv/vw devices. I wanted something that my juice would taste good in, would last, and I wouldn't have to deal with burnt coils all the time. I didn't like carto tanks, they tasted like poo and dumped juice in my lap. I had also never dripped before my reo, so everything was essential new to me.

I'm not a tinkerer, or a coil builder. I don't like it, and it hurts my hands. I've had my reos 2ish months now, and couldn't be happier. I've built a handful of coils, that aren't always pretty, but they work great (this coming from a non mechanical person!) I've by choice redid my coils after about a month, as I felt it was time.

Wire, and cotton lasts a long while. A bunch of used reo's have been popping up on the classies. Get verified, and check them out for a good deal :)

Batteries and chargers come up on the classies as well. And i'm sure some of the reonauts can recommend good and cheap sites to buy them from.

The maintenance on the reo is simple. Every 1-3 days I change out the wick. It takes nooblette me less than a minute to do so. Once a month i clean them up, which is still not time consuming. When I rebuild 4 coils, even that only takes about 30 mins -hour for me( again, im mildy dumb in this aspect)

I couldn't be happier with my reos, unless they wicked themselves :p

The fact that you are here asking puts you way ahead of where I was. I've been vapping for almost 3 years now. I've owned and tried them all. Back in October I was looking at the MVP and VTR and decided to go with a Reo. All I can say is wish I would have 2 years ago, I would have saved a lot of money not chasing mods.

What I found over the years is that no matter what carto or tank system they all have muted flavor compared to dripping. To drip means carrying bottles and dripping every few hits many choose to go with a tank and trade better flavor for convenience. However a Bottom feed mod is the best of both, you get the flavor and performance of dripping in a very easy to use convenient system.

You can run regular coils or carts but an RBA gives the best performance. With a day's practice, building and wicking a coil is easier and faster than rebuilding and filling a tank.

Yes the Reo, batteries, charger, RBA have an initial up price that is higher. But The Reo will last years longer and the on going daily cost is much less and you get much better vaping performance.

Don't listen to all the old timers talk about their Reo. Look at all the new posters that just got their first REO, they are on here every week. They all say the same things.

"I didn't believe all the hype, I was wrong, this thing is amazing"
"I wish I would have found the Reo a long time ago"
"I haven't touched any of my other mods since getting it"
"I'm selling my other stuff to fund another REO"

Exactly. I sold ALL of my pre-reo vaping gear, and bought more reos. :)

Yeah I guess everyone makes good points. Even though the start up cost is astronomical by my standards. It's money well spent and money saved in the future. I guess if an MVP2 breaks well you have yourself a $40-50 dollar paper weight. I just have to close my eyes and hit the check-out button and not look at my checking account til next pay.. haha

Just do it! Your point about the paper weight has more truth than you know. It's the main reason I gave the Reo a try. In one year I typically spent more than a Reo replacing cheaper mods that quit working after taking one too many drops.

I'm telling you if your single in Korea and anything like me when i was single in Korea just take one or two weekends off drinking and you'll have made up for it... if your not... consider it a great investment, absolutely worth it. I know I'm getting a grand and another rm2 once my monthly budget saved gets there so like 3 months or so and ill have the second reo on its way

I hear you. I am currently waiting for my first reo . Been vaping for about six mos. and truly enjoying it. It's great to be free of analogs . The big downside fo me is I was spending alot of money trying to find a reliable tank/coil setup . I lurked for a long time on mostly the provape and reo forums. What I started to realize sure the provari is great mod, BUT it seems like most users are still chasing the ultimate topper. Believe me , tanks and replacement coils can add up quickly.
I pmed rob and was able to get a blemished grand for about $30.00 less. Mabey you could do the same. It, is my understanding that you really need to search for the defect that makes it a blem.
I understand your reluctance to spend that much. I am retired and also need to spend wisely.
From what I learned on this forum is that after you are set up, you pretty much only have to occasionally buy kanthal and cotton. Both are really cheap to buy. THE TOPPER CHASE IS OVER!!!
This I justified my purchase. Good luck on whatever you decide .

I'm probably exactly like you when you were in Korea haha. The weekend trips to Daegu spent drinking adds up more than I want to add up ha. For some reason it's easy for me to go out and drink and buy my bottle of crown at the PX. Probably because it's a smaller $ amount. Spending $300 some on all the supplies and mod makes me cringe a little

I don't even know why I have to justify the cost considering I smoked damn near a pack a day, and to top it off I also dip almost a can a day. So you figure almost $6 for the pack of cigs, and nearly $4 for the can of dip. That's over $300 a month, but it was easier to spend because it was little bits at a time haha. I guess ONE big investment and it's over and pays itself off over and over
