I've been wondering does sucralose carmelize like sugar in atomizers and cartos? Im only wondering cause my cartos don't have the same lifespan like they used to. I just started using the darwin with the same cartos I've always used and they don't last as long. Im trying to narrow it down. Either the cartoon manufacturers changed the build or I might be using too much sweetner. I just don't know. I don't want to go back to messy attys that you have to top off all the time!

Good thread! I have a very clear coffee juice I've used in a carto for over 2 weeks. I decided to sweeten it and within two days noticed a hard draw. I stuck a hat pin up the hole from the threaded end, and it came out with black crud on it. I don't know what the sweetener I have is called. Maybe just coincidence, but now I'm wondering.

I mentioned a couple months ago that sweetener seemed to destroy my cartos. I also noticed that the double chocolate which is very dark in color did the same. I gave up the sweetener and the dark double chocolate and my cartos are lasting much longer. Cartomizers are cheap, I don't bother with cleaning. I prefer to toss them. There is nothing better than that brand new fresh carto taste.

Geoff, so you finally tried the cartos. How do you like them?

OK you guys are going to hate me but my first carto 5-pack just lasted me 2 months (classic 510's.) They're still alive but I don't want to mix my new flavors in them so I ordered some Boge's. These I will try cleaning. BTW I've read that you can "rinse" the 510's by spinning some plain PG through them.

My atomizers have always lasted 6 months or more, almost exclusively with TV liquid. I can't figure out what you guys do to them. I will say that I'm lazy and almost never clean them until they're as clogged as a stuffy nose. Maybe the roomer that cleaning shortens their life is true?

The only exception, and the reason I'm here, is that I got a new Ego battery with a USB passthroug and a few atomizers at Christmas. I added a bunch of sweetener bought from TV to their liquid. My new atomizers all died within 2 weeks. The old ones that had made it through everything died too. I was cleaning them a lot because they would clog after a day or two.

So what changed? The higher temperature, mass output battery, and the extra sweetener. I'm thinking the combination is what does the trick. Our e-cigs are getting really good so we are really heating up the liquid now. But TV's liquid is still the same. (I've been vaping for 2+ years, TV liquid for 9 months.)

The liquid I just used on the 2 month old cartos was from Gourmet vapor and Freedom Smoke USA (sorry TV.) I used 20VG/80PG mix.

So either the 510 atomizers hate the Ego passthrough or the TV liquid does. I will tell you my conclusion at the end of this month because I'm ordering some new TV liquid today with some Boge cartos.

I've been using the same brand of cartos for months because they work so well but I'm beginning to think the manufacturers are cutting costs or something I went through 2 cartos in a weekend thats just not right! I've been getting sweetened juices just as long. I hope its not the sucralose cause I like my juice sweet!
I don't clean mine cause they don't seem to vape any better after. All I know is im spending more on cartos than tv juices!

I'm glad I started using cartomizers. But also, I can't help but feel like it was kind of a ploy to generate more cash for manufacturers who are considering how much we were willing to spend on cigarettes, how much we're saving now, and how they can stick that cash in THEIR pocket as what I'm getting in terms of cartos are behaving VERY cheaply when I stack them up next to the 510 atomizers I've been getting that EASILY last me 2 weeks to a month.

It seems like it takes VERY LITTLE to send a cartomizer into the trash. Any liquid other than just straight PG liquid just screws things up. I really hope this is a technology they intend on improving.

People like their sweetener, people like their VG. Shouldn't have to breeze through a ton of cartomizers to enjoy your liquids.

If my atomizers behave like champs and take a cleaning well and go back to working like champs, but the cartomizers just fail at vaporizing the more viscous liquids I enjoy on a regular basis...

Easy math.

Don't really know where to post this, so I thought it might fit here and that someone might be able to help. I have the ego/tornado-t. Loved it at first then atomiser clogging, tried cleaning then leaking. Now one is dead and the other is a very light draw, if any. Ordered another kit from tw (for extra chargers and batteries) and used a different flavored/sweet juice. Same thing with atomisers. Then I ordered 2 more atomizers from another vender and one had a burnt taste to start and the other is ok for now but only 4 days in with it. I did notice that when adding the sweetner that the liquid inside the tank would go from clear to dark brown, so I've stopped the sweetner and no more brown color. In 44 days I've had to purchase the kits w/ two attys ,plus all the juice. This eats a lot of juice. Starting to cost more than analogs. I'm thinking I need to order another atomiser again from worry about this one going out. I'm also tired of worrying about how much longer I have before this one goes out. Would a cartimizer or clearomizer go/fit with what I've got already and would it solve my problems? Don't want to buy another kit with all the stuff or buy tank atomizers every week, but I really like the no-hassle of the tank. I just need to find a more cost effective method if I'm going to keep at this. I'm not techy at all either. I've read through a lot of posts and all the techy talk and abbreviations like LR, Hr, OMH .... I just want something to work, last all day, no hassle, with good taste and vapor that I can depend on so I can get over analogs and live my life. Maybe I'm wanting too much.

Get some Boge 2.0 cartomizers, don't pay more than $8 for a 5pack and enjoy, even if you only get 2days out of one it's a fraction of the cost of smoking.

The thing I like about the cartos the most is that they don't leak and if one lasts two days then that's equal to 10 days on an atty (cause there are 5 of them). I spent sooo much time cleaning attys and buying alcohol and jewelry cleaning gadets and boiling and on and on... So glad to just vape and not worry about it.

I am not exactly "Killing" my cartos. They would work for a couple of weeks, but they seem to lose that great flavor. I change up my flavors often, and most of the time I accidently put Cafe Mocha in my Caramel Popcorn or something stupid. I am with Cubfan, there is nothing like the taste and sound of a brand new carto filled with your favorite Tasty Vapor flavor.

I buy my cartos in bulk from China for about 5 bucks a box. I was spending 10 bucks a day on analogs.

dwillings who do you get yours from? I tried one other vendor and thier cartos standard ohm were crap. I vape on my darwin at 8.5 watts been using nhalers mega 510 3.4ohm cartos for months, and they went from a week of use down to like 3 days max. My vaping habits and juice have been the same. Maybe someone else carries a better carto! do tell dwillings :)
