So I have a smok Alien 220 TC. I've had it for about a year, no issues. I was just laying on my bed and went to take hit and noticed the screen was getting very dim. Then I noticed a very strange chemical smell. It started to heat up so I automatically just ejected the two batteries out of it. When I inspected the batteries it seemed there was moisture on the batteries. Didn't seem as if it came out of the batteries. My guess as it's condensation. So I haven't put the batteries back in to see what happens, probably need new batteries if the whole things isn't broke. But I would appreciate any advice ad to what people think Is wrong or any advice. Thank you

If you sure that your ejuice did not somehow leak down into the battery compartment, then discard those batteries asap and never use again. You did not mention who makes the batteries. Are they @Mooch approved?

They are 18650 2500nAh 3.7V. Pretty sure it's not juice.
Who makes them? Do you remember? What color of battery are they?
Here is a link to the battery forum here at ECF. Look for Mooch's post where he list the batteries he has tested and approved.

They're green. I don't know the maker. So you would definitely suggest not even attempting to turn it back on? I dried everything and was going to let it air out. I I wouldn't be panicking if it wasn't Christmas eve tomorrow. I'm not sure if my vape shops will be open. And thank you for your help I appreciate it.
I sure would not, especially since you describe a chemical smell and that they were starting to heat up. Your safety comes first above all else. Please don't tempt fate. Do you have any other batteries or mods you can use? If not and your vape shop is not open then purchase a pen style ecig from Walmart or a gas station. Something to get you through so you don't go back to the stinkies. I know it will probably be awful but now you know the reason to have backups.

Are you in the US?

They are Samsung. IN18650-25R. There was a sticker covering that part.
Ok. They are @Mooch approved. What watts do you vape at? Would you say you have run them pretty hard in this past year? Anything can wear out at any time. I am just glad you caught it before they blew up.
:)

I mean. I'm on it pretty steady from when I wake up till I go to bed. My tank recommends to the wattage to be 60-100. And I vape at 40w. I have a back up but although it's embarrassing I don't know how to make the coils.
No reason to be embarrassed. What is your backup?

Good to have a tank back up but what about another vape mod? Did you start with the Alien 220?
