Good choice. I've had a chest xray every year for the past ten years. May not show anything but it helps my piece of mind when it comes back clear. Consider the chance of a virus or bacterial infection as well. Might not be full blown but just underlining enough to be irritated by vaping. Good luck!

Another update: It's not a pg allergy. I got my sample of Virgin Vapors Turkish Coffee, which is 100% VG, and reacted the same way. On the plus side, the reaction was less severe and of shorter duration. This might have been because the VG is still less irritating than PG or it could be a sign that the antibiotics I'm taking are having an effect.

It looks like it's chronic bronchitis. Irreversible. Probably from my smoking days, though I was a very light smoker. Don't know yet if I can continue vaping. Antibiotics made the symptoms disappear for a few days but now I've stopped taking the course, they're back again.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know that it is treatable but once the damage is done it's permanent. If your doctor isn't a pulmonary specialist I would suggest seeing one for treatment options. Vaping may not be an option but there are other methods to help quit the habit. I use to vape and when that wasn't working for me I switched to Swedish snus and quit pretty quickly. Good luck and stay strong.

Hi everyone,

I quit smoking about eight months ago and have been vaping ever since with no discernable side-effects at all. About six weeks ago I contracted what I thought was a cold, manifesting in a low-level cough, but then it just went on and on. Eventually, I decided to stop using the e-cig for a while to see what happens and my symptoms seemed to fade away. After a couple of days, I felt normal again. When I start vaping again, back comes the sore-chest/throat and cough. I've tried this a few times and the symptoms are definitely triggered by the e-cig. I'm pretty concerned and more than a little disappointed - my delicious Liberro Turkish Blend is just sitting there looking at me and I can't use it without getting ill.I don't want to stop vaping and I don't particularly want to contribute to the besmirching of e-cigarettes' reputation but if they're not safe, they're not safe.

I should add that these symptoms began to occur shortly after trying a clearomizer and new juice from a new vendor. However, I've returned to the stuff I used to use which is now manifesting as toxic as well. Funnily enough, different juices affect me in slightly different ways and at slightly different speeds. Some will give me a sensation of swelling in my lower throat pretty much right away while some, my Turkish Blend for instance, seemed fine the first day I used it (yesterday) and then woke me up in the night with an awful burning cough in my chest, the soreness of which I can still feel.

Thoughts? Has anyone else had this experience?

I have had no similar experiences and/or symptoms whatsoever and I highly recommend that you stop vaping entirely and immediately. Some people can't eat certain foods, wear certain clothing and are apparently allergic to most things, anything, everything. It is what it is. Just stop. :smokie:

I had a cigarette last night (don't worry, I'm way past relapsing into smoking again,

Happy to learn of your super human strength.... are you also able to leap tall buildings with a single bound? :p

I sincerely believe you "may" have a pre-existing condition (such as emphysema, bronchitis, what have you), that became symptomatic concurrent to vaping but not necessarily due to vaping. The reason I think this is; I haven't met a person medically diagnosed with COPD, chronic bronchitis and/or other pulmonary issues that was able to vape. I wish you the very best but I seriously suggest you stop vaping (and definitely no more SMOKING!) until your lungs are restored to optimum health. Best of luck & keep us updated. Just my :2c:

I suggest to change your atomizer often, I have been on the same situation twice and at the end replacing the atomizer did the trick, some silica wicks may not taste burn but lose particles that affect you lungs.
