I was reading a news article about e cigs and thought it was funny how they talked about "possible side effects".

They talk about how "unclean" e cigs are.

Once I quit smoking, the congestion I had went away almost immediately, I could breath (deeply) again, no wheezing, no pressure on my chest, no cigarette hangover, no phlegm, constant cough went away.

One person at work was talking to me about how someone he knew said that e cigs were worse than the real thing. I would like to know how he came upon that knowledge?!

The proof is in the pudding. I smoked for 24 years, in the past few years I had noticed considerable downgrade in lung function including the symptoms I listed above, once I started using my e cigarette those symptoms went away and I felt better immediately. Before I started using my e cig I was getting sick more often. I used to get sick maybe once a year, then I got sick a couple of times within a couple of months. Upper respiratory one that most smokers get. After I started with my e cig, I could feel myself getting sick again almost like it had been but it was very slight and it didn't get worse and it went away in a couple of days.

Finally a product comes along that can release people from smoking and they want to get rid of it, the idiocy floors me.

People are VERY distrustful sometimes of things they know nothing about.

Heres are some good side effects, not getting winded and nearly out of breath while having sex.
More frequent and stronger erections.
Being able to pick up non smoking members of the opposite sex, especially nerdy chicks :)
Not smelling like ashes
Having your risk of heart disease decrease
Not having to worry about emphysema
Being able to watch a movie in a theater through its entirety
vaping in retail stores and at work.

I could list things all night!

Smoking has been completely demonized (rightly or wrongly), so anything that looks like "smoking" gets shuffled into the Horrible category. People can have reasonable arguments about whether or not ecigs are "healthy" but not reasonable arguments about whether or not ecigs are "healthier" than analogs. That argument is closed.

A complete lack of education. That's the bottom line.

The saying "ignorance is bliss" rings true for what could be perceived as the majority of people in today's society.

It is always easier to argue out of negligence than to put forth the effort needed to self-educate via research.

It is this common practice that causes problems one way or another in just about every community, hobby, and industry now days.
