Suggest cartomizers and juice for my tank on a Provari Mini.

I have recently entered the world of mods on September 28, 2012. I have not even wanted a drag off an analog since the day I started vaping with my Provari Mini. I was a 16 year, pack a day smoker. I have been reading this forum for the past 5 months and have purchased the Provari Mini due to all the great feedback on this forum. I started with an atomizer, but got tired of constantly filling. Then I purchased a tank from the Provari site (because tanks were highly recommended on this site). The tank is the best thing ever! My only problem is the DCT cartomizer from the provari site. The last 3 I have tried have not worked properly and I only get a burned taste...only to open a new $3 cartomizer and hope it absorbs the juice. I'm getting a little frustrated, because this is suppose to be less expensive than purchasing a pack of butts, but the defects (and the juice) have been adding up.

I know these two questions I'm about to ask have been asked numerous times, but I can't seem to find too many specifics to the Provari mini and at points I get dizzy with all the information that I sift through on this forum...be it so amazingly helpful. So I apologize for the repetitive questions. A link to a post that answers it would be helpful too.

Here's my two questions.

1. What would you suggest I use as a cartomizer for my existing tank on my Provari mini (which is same as the regular size provari, but shorter). Are there less expensive options? Some of the website are confusing and I don't really need a tank...I just need a cartomizer that won't burn or have a defect and has the holes already punched in. (my existing tank is the DCT cartomizer tank 3.5ml)

2. Is there better e-juice than the one offered on the Provari website. I buy their premium e-juice and my favorite flavor is eastern menthol tobacco (and i was never a menthol smoker..just like the throat hit with the mint). I'm not a fan of the fruity flavors yet as I'm only 2.5 months analog free and still like a light tobacco flavor. I'm also looking for a juice made in the USA, as I don't trust regulations in other countries.

Try these Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL Great compnay to deal with with extremely fast shipping.A lot of times Ive ordered before 11am and had them ship out that same day, even on Saturdays.You also have options for faster delivery @slightly more cost.

They also sell Alien Visions juice on the site in sampler sizes as well as larger. The massive chocolate mint is really good. I'd recommend 2 holes with any AVE juices as they are higher in vg.

They alaso have some Hangsen and Dekang juices at a reasonable price but theyre not my cup of tea.

A really nice carto for tanks is the Ikenvape 801 Fusion. They sell 2 hole punched now in either "std" or "mega" length depending on how tall your tank is. (note: the Provari is a 510 connection so you'd need one of the Ikenvape stealth adapters $2.50)

I havent had much luck with Smoktech cartos, usually 1-2 dead ones in a 5 pack for me. Havent tried Boge cartos, but heard good things about them. You can order from certain sites like Valley View Vapes, they have great deals on Pyrex tanks and best thing they test each cartomizer out for you before they ship it for a small additional fee. Never bought from them before cause Im a atomizer kind of guy, but heard great things about their products and customer service.

He's a great guy and those cartos rock. On the juice thing, if shopping at Ikenvape try their RY4 Gold (I like the VG version). You may also like Alien Visions Boba's Bounty or Gorilla Juice. All three of these are in my "go to" rotation. None of these are menthol but all have a nice "sweetish" (not sure that's a real word ) tobacco flavor.

Must be your supplier in a years time Ive only had 2 DOA cartos that were quickly replaced.

i highly recommend you try kanger T2.T3 or their cartos ..

kanger cartos are a horizontal coil,,just like a lot of the smok tech carto are.but they work so much better ,,

as far as juice goes ?? have you tried any of the dekang brand ???

Might be a silly question but are you primeing the cartomizer before use? Dripping in about 30 to 40 drops after you fill the tank and letting it soak into the filler material? I know I burned up my first carto because I didn't know about primeing. I've used the XL carto single coil refills from Provape for a while and they work great. I also get cartos from Volcano e-cigs whenever I order their USA Made Premium Juice. I like the Tobacco Pure they sell and it's my all day vape. I've tried numerous other brands but always go back to that one (I order cartos from whichever site i'm getting my juice from). Wife likes Provapes juice so I bounce back and forth with orders.

I have used Smoktech (not Smoktek) cartos for over a year without a single defective carto. I had two cartos that didn't fire and simply pulled the posts on them. They worked fine then.

There is a wide variety of Smoktech cartos to choose from. I suggest the LR XL single coils for less than 4.2 V. Or use standard resistance single coil. With it's amp limitation the Provari is not that good with dual coil cartos. Smoktech tank cartos are available prepunched with 1-3 holes. Three hole cartos work best with a high percentage VG juice.

XL cartos are the same size as the Smoktech dual coil cartos. They measure 9 mm x 45mm (threaded 510 connector base is not included in carto measurements). I like stainless steel. These vcartos hold at least 1.8 ml of juice. Filling the first time requires 50-70 drops of liquid.

Any carto will burn if run too dry. Carto tanks help to prevent this by keeping the carto filler saturated at all times. I use Smoktech LR XL cartos for 15-20 ml without a tank before I change them out.

I can second the Smoktek (not Smoktech) single coil tank replacement cartos. I use the 3.0 ohm resistance with two laser-drilled holes. I more recently have been using the Ikenvape Platinum Mega punched! These are the 510 threaded ones. I believe I like them even more than the Smokteks. The Platinum's seem to have a cleaner, more pronounced flavor and to also last at least an additional tankful of juice.

I just got a batch of the 801 Fusions. I've only tried one and was extremely disappointed. Very harsh vape as if I was using a 1.5ohm dual coil. The Provari read the ohms as being correct, so I'm not sure what gives. I'm hoping it's just a bad carto. I haven't tried the others yet.

I'm not big on tobacco flavors at all, preferring coffee flavors. However, one of the vendors that I order my coffee vapes from have a very good reputation for their tobacco flavors. Their juices are organic and use extraction methods to obtain their flavors. I recommend giving them a try. I'm glad you mentioned that. I haven't known about priming, but did try dripping into the carto. I thought maybe that's what ruined it the first time. I only dripped about 10 drops though. I'll try it again with the rest of the supply that I have. Thanks!!
