RDA Suggest something for me to use solely for taste testing?

I'm going to be switching to DIY juice very soon and I want something to use specifically for testing my blends. An RDA seems to make the most sense because it will require the least amount of juice to test and I can vape some straight VG in between tests to clear out the old flavor. Plus, rewicking it will be way cheaper than wasting cartos and the coil will last a long time since it will literally only be used for taste testing.

I want something cheap, I don't care if it's a clone, and it has to be simple. It doesn't have to be great, and I don't want something geared towards super low sub ohm builds. Something that comes with a pre-built coil would be preferred(especially if it's anywhere in the 1 ohm and up region, but I will settle for .5).

I really don't know much about RDAs and quite frankly, I don't care to learn more than required to have a small one for taste testing. I will always be about them large capacity tank ;)

Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert by any means (especially considering I've had it for a day), but I like my Magma. It came with a prebuilt coil, but I have no idea what resistance it was. I built my own coil that read 1.8ohms on my iStick. Great flavor. I think Fasttech has them for like $15 or something, but I'm sure there's cheaper stuff out there.

+1 on the Magma Clone

Easy to build on, single or dual coil and decent flavour.

If you don't want to build your own coils then Fasttech have a range of pre-built microcoils that you can buy, I think they are pretty cheap and come in a range of resistances and wire gauges.
(But I would just learn to make your own, it is easy after the first few and satisfying)

The airflow settings determine the coil setup limitations, and even then a lot of dual coil airflow RDA's vape just fine with single coils in them. The Magma is really a solid atty for flavor though and is quite simple to build singles on as it is a two post design. They do have a tendency to get a little "weepy" with juice with extended use, which wouldn't be a problem for your application (unless you try the magma and fall in love with dripping - it happens!)

the 23mm and the 30mm versions on the list there (I have the 30mm) have a frosted white separator block down in the juice well.

after a few months using my magma and veritas, I came to the conclusion that the plastic in the magma was making a contribution to the flavour (I vape a lot of unflavoured).

I just don't like the idea of having to refill it so often. I hate having to refill my 3.5ml tank, can't imagine being limited to ~40 drops! haha

I'll be getting a Subtank soon though, from what I hear, flavor wise it's fairly close to dripping. So if I DO end up loving the flavor of dripping, I'll at least have something "good enough" with a good sized tank.

That's actually the exact one I was looking at!

I had the same requirement a few months ago. I went with a Smok Caterpillar. Easy to build on, air flow adjustments from mouth to lung or lung hits, single or dual coil and cheap. I picked one up at my local vape shop for $11.

I recently ordered a Mutation X v2 clone and Infinite CLT v2 because I figured out the Caterpillar and like drippers.

Also, OP, if you just want to quickly test flavours I would suggest an IGO-S. It's cheap, and a very small RDA that's easy to build on, so you don't have to use as much juice compared to the Magma to test a flavour. Just drip a few drops, vape to test, remove the cotton, dry-burn the coil, and replace with new cotton to try another juice.
