I'm waiting on some DIY supplies and want to make some dilutions of the flavors so I can taste each one before I start assembling them into a flavor. I user an iClear 30 primarily, but also have some Aspire BDC ET-S tanks and some cheapo CE4s. I don't want to use tanks for taste testing, but I don't know which way to go for taste testing while not getting a different experience, say if I use a dripper and get a completely different flavor than I would in a tank. I also don't want to spend a lot. Should I get some 510 attys, pull the filling out and drip on them, use a bunch of carts with minimal juice per test, or what?

Note: When I asked this at a local shop the discussion immediately went from picking up an RDA to a mod with speedboat batteries to wrapping kanthal for 0.2 ohm resistance to macrame wicks made with organic unicorn pubes. I just want a taste tester. Thanks for any suggestions.

I laughed so fricking hard at that, thank you for making my morning.

On topic I would go the Cart direction if in your position, it would be less of a hassle. I normally just setup my drippers when I'm tasting my stand alone flavors.

i use a debridged 510 atty ( yes an atty that the bridge and mesh have been removed) when changing flavors i just put a few drop of vg in and blow it out i think a dripper would be easy also if using cotton just pull out the cotton and replace seems pretty quick, if long term verses money a dripper would last longer than a 510 atty but i have a stock pile of 510 attys so it an easy choice for me

If your willing to try a RDA then get a Smok Dripper RDA, 30 ga Kanthal and build a 1.5 to 2 ohm coil. It's only 14.5 mm diameter so it doesn't look out of place on an EGO battery and the flavor it delivers is great. If your using a larger mod then an IGO-L is an easy dripper to build.

You should have heard the salesman try to talk me into a different dripper when I bought the Smok Dripper RDA. He just didn't understand that not everyone who rebuilds does it because they enjoy it, not to chase clouds.

I have some 510 attys that work just fine for taste testing, but when I officially decided to get into DIY, I decided that for me and the way I vape (gennys and other rebuildables) and considering that I'm making juice *for me* for use on the equipment *I* prefer, it made sense to invest in a good dripper.

At the time I decided this, I had not yet found a dripper I liked, so I did a bunch of research and decided to get a Magma. It was the right decision *for me*, because now I have something else I like to vape on, that *also* works for testing.

So my advice would be - it depends what *you* use to vape on a regular basis, and how much it matters to you in terms of your testing equipment vape experience matching what you use on a daily basis (a juice is not going to taste exactly the same in a 510 atty as it will in a kayfun, for example. Close, sure, and close may work fine for you. Nothing wrong with that).

I still use the 510 attys for testing, they work great for that purpose and I'm glad I have some kicking around. I'm equally glad that I have the Magma, though, because that's more useful to me when it comes to "fine tuning" a juice than a 510 is.... since I don't kick back and vape with a 510 normally.

(Edited to add: The infinite magma clone is the route I took - they can be had for about $40, so getting a good dripper doesn't have to break the bank. IGOs are even cheaper of course - I just didn't get along well with those.)

+1 for the carts. That's what I use for example with samples because I order for me and a friend and 1mL it's not enough for us both.

Damn, give me the stores wed address, always wanted to wick with unicorn pube wicks. Heard they help extend your juice:D:lol::D:lol:

There is like a screen dripper you can use, but would recommend just getting a cheap clone dripper that you can wrap a similar ohm build that you are used to, then use cotton wicks. Drip on it, vape, tweak recipe, drip some more. Then when you mix a new favor, simply yank the wick, dry burn coil and clean atty, throw in new wick, drip and vape.

That's what I did when I first got into DIY juice. Was already doing rba's at the time too, so some rba's could vape in dripping mode to test, all good, then assemble, fill, Vape.:D

I went to a local Flea Market and picked up a copy of a reproduction of a clone dripper for about $7. I use it when mixing juices. It is extremely easy to flush it out under running water, blot dry with a paper towel and use again. The flavor may be just a little off versus using a tank, but it lets me know if I am heading in the right direction.

I always keep a 50ml bottle of "pre-mix" (PG/VG and nicotine with no flavoring added). When I get new flavors I mix up a small amount (about 3 ml) just so I can taste the new flavors by themselves and get a feel for them. With the dripper I can mix a couple of flavors from my testing batches to see how they go together. Hope this helps!

Enjoy your mixing!!
