I concur .... grab a twist or spinner (I actually prefer the thickness of the spinner both physically and aesthetically), a D type ego skirt/sleeve/what ever they call it, and a Vivi Mini Nova. It's a pretty darn good setup and will BLOW your mind compared to an Ego-T.

Thanks, tc1

From the videos I am watching, it looks like you get a lot of smoke. My mom's eGo-T has been not producing much smoke lately. She's been blowing out the atty and I've cleaned it with a q-tip but nothing's helping. Any suggestions?

You will need to make sure you have a charger that works well. I smoked 2 pad and I hate to refill cartos or tanks. Mine lasts all day. The vivi is so easy to use. It comes with 3 heads so you can try and see which one you like best. I think it is the most cost efficient way to go. I know where your Mom is at -I have smoked for 48 yrs and if it works for me I think it can work for anyone. The nova will work on any 510 battery as long as it is powerful enough. The cig-alikes are not so good.

Have you ever removed the spike cap in the atomizer (using small needle nose pliers or a hemostat) and dry burn the coils? Sounds like the coils are covered in gunk.

Glad to see this topic; just ordered a spinner this weekend to go along with a couple 900 ego batteries.
Im also using vivi nova minis, which I'm extremely happy with - they fit nicely on the ego batteries.

Thanks for the info, Bumble. Sounds like a Spinner and the Vivi Nova Mini is the way to go. Good to know the ego batteries will suffice, as well.

Luckily ... he/she can use the Ego charger that came with his ego-t as well as use the standard ego battery as a backup while his vv is charging. Though you can always just order two twist/spinner batts if you have the cash to spare.

Also, you might want to buy a lanyard so you can carry your ego with you and not have to worry about dropping or losing it. They cost like $3-$5 on every site and are worth it IMHO.

Hmm, okay. The batteries we are using are from Ritchy(?), I think. I don't have the box near me. The charger came with her initial kit and is working fine, it seems. I'm going to grab a flavor sampler pack, as well. I bought an apple flavor and could taste absolutely nothing. I have heard that high nicotine levels can cause you to not taste the flavor and there was 18mg of nicotine in the flavor so maybe that was it.

I had no idea you could even do that. That would make total sense since she has had leakage problems. I'll see if I can get ahold of her eGo and clean that part. Thank you!

The basic ego batteries stay at about 3.3-3.4v. The vv batts like the spinner or twist go from there up to 4.8 volts. The spinner is better because you can see the voltages at the base but on the twist you need a magnifying glass. Different juices work better at different volts. You can try a head and start at lower voltage and work your way up to where you like it. The heads are replaceable but the vivi can be reused. I am at 4 mos using it. I prefer the spinner because it is a little shorter than the twist and just a bit fatter.

My girlfriend is going halfway with me on this as a joint Christmas gift so I should be just fine in getting a couple of extra batteries. Is there any proper way to carry the MVN? Is leaking a problem with this unit?

I think preferably she'd want to stick with the ego battery size. She seems quite particular so I'll probably end up getting some custom color tanks, as well :p

The nice thing about using the lanyard is that the ego with naturally dangle semi-sideways, which helps the wicking process of the nova. So basically ... as the juice level gets low, you'll want to turn the device to the side or "twirl" it to help the juice wick. Since I naturally lay and hold my device on its side often ... I don't really have a wicking issue.

As far as leaking ... this is generally caused by "hot" juices which have been known to leech/eat away at the plastic they use in these tanks. Supposedly the newer plastic is more sturdy however. There are actually metal replacement tanks (come in tons of colors) you can purchase for $2.99 that wont leech at all no matter what juice you put into it. The biggest problem with these metal tanks are that you cant see the juice level of your tank and some people find them harder to fill (again, because its much harder to see in low lighting) I use both the plastic and metal tanks with zero issues.

Brilliant. I think the only tool close to that initial removal is needle nose pliers. Is that okay or a no-no?

You can use whatever does the job ... just needs to be small enough to get in there and pull it out. Might take some effort but dont worry ... it WILL pull out without causing damage to anything.

Yes, I remember hearing about the cinnamon flavor damaging the tank in the Vivi Nova. I don't think that should be an issue for us.

That little metal piece in the center you see is the small D type skirt I was talking about that gives the tank a more finished look.

Very nice. Are the skirts available on most websites? I've found the Mini Vivi Nova tanks and/or kits at Vapor Kings and Got Vapes but don't recall if they had the skirts.
