Suggestion re changeover

I am hesitant to post this, because those of you who run this forum know what you are doing, and do it well, so you probably have it covered. Still, the devil (20 years online) make me do it. Hang on to the old enough to throw it back into use if a glitch develops during the changeover. Good luck!

The old stuff will be archived, but once the changeover hits, it will take something pretty catastrophic to cause us to throw vBulletin back into the mix. The databases are not compatible with each other so once the change kicks in, we're committed to that road.

(Last time I was involved in updating a major database, a disk head crashed, one checkpoint backup was corrupt, a crucial incremental hadn't been performed correctly and several non-crucial backups were missing in action. 8 hours downtime turned into two weeks.
I'm getting nervous just thinking about it and it was all 20 years ago!)

They have been test importing into the new ECF site. All going on behind the scenes and we have been testing the functionality quite frequently. We really do want to cover all basis. *crosses fingers that all goes as planned* anyway.
