Suggestions for a newbie? :)

First off, I want to say how excited I am to have found this site! I am new to the vaping world (3days), and already know this is for me! No desire to go back to real cigs. :) Never thought I'd say that!

My first question is how many clearomizers should I keep on hand, and about how long will one last? I have an eGo CE4

My next question is about the e juice. I have tried Maraschino tobacco and Dark Chocolate. (I really liked both)

I also tried grape and a tropical mix. (I wasn't a fan of either)

I like the PG, it seems to give a better throat hit. I'd love some suggestions for some other flavors to try out, and some good shops to order from.

Thanks in advance! :)

I am also a noob, but..... everything I've seen so far says sampler packs are the way to go. If you search this site I'm sure you can fin 100 recommendations on where to look LOL. But ever but of advice I've seen so far says that's the way to go. Good luck on the search and post the ones ya like the most so we can all enjoy.:) VAPE :vapor: ON!!

hey there i am also newly into vaping myself, welcome to awesomeness my friend. so about tanks in general, i find it nice to have a few tanks personalty so i don't need to flush the tank to change my flavor but some only use one as i have been told, atm i have 5 tanks since i made myself a carrying case for them :p. i can't give a clear choice on what flavors you should try since it is all different for each person, but i will say some vendors i have deal with have been awesome & very great with customer service for a newbie. there is roarvapers, high desert vapes & AiV ( Alice in Vapeland) which is only open on tuesday night from 10:59 pm est til either they get filled with orders or wed at 10:59 pm est, they do have some wicked flavors. hope that helps abit feel free to add me if you like, its nice to be friends with others that have just came into vaping :2cool:

First off, congrats to the both of you... Your wick life with the ce4 will depend on how much you vape it. I usually have a few different tanks lying around to try different juices. My favorite vendors are The Vapor Chef and Five Pawns - Signature Vapor Liquid my favorite juice from vapor chef is unicorn juice. Fav from five pawns is Gambit (apple pie). I like sweet juices and end to stay away from tobacco flavors. Vapor chef is a trusted vendor. So is fivepawns. Five pawns is pricey but thy do have sample packs. Vapor chef sells 6 ml bottles to try for $3.99. Check them out. Quality vendors. Also check out FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics great prices and good products.

Personally I love HHV juices. But there isn't one brand that have all of your favorites. You'll end up picking one flavor here and one flavor there. Hunting down your perfect vape is part of the fun though :)

Also, don't be afraid to try flavors you think you might not like. I spent the first months hunting for the perfect Marlboro light flavor. Little did I know that a coconut/pear would end up being my absolute favorite.

This thread will list some of the more popular brands: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...63-reals-time-2012-ecf-juice-year-awards.html
Downside ofc is that many of tem will be quite hard to obtain...

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Congrats and welcome to the forums!

As for the clearo's, that kind of depends on how readily you can get them. I would say maybe 3-4 should suffice. I have had them fail within hours of putting a new one on so keep that in mind too.
Clearo life has a lot of factors, nicotine level, heavy or light juice, how much you vape and what voltage you're using (if you have an ego twist or some type of VV).
Personally, I would look into tanks like maybe a nova or evod that can be rebuilt. It's cheaper to throw in a new coil/wick then to buy a new CE4.

It's hard to know how long they last. There is a common term -- YMMV. (Your mileage may vary). This applies to each vaper's style, the unfortunate inconsistencies of the products themselves as well as the blend of liquids.

#1 rule in vaping -- always have a back up (or 2). It's ok to try different styles of "topper", too. It's part of the fun.

Sample packs for liquid are a nice way to try out different flavors. If you find a "brand" you tend to like a few flavors from, just stay with them for awhile and enjoy trying their flavors. This will save you $$$. One's taste can go through some changes as we detox from the stinkies....so a flavor you like today you may detest tomorrow. Soon, you will find the ones you gravitate to most frequently. I also suggest trying flavors that you didn't think you'd like. Some of my favorites have been those!

Welcome and congrats on quitting!!!

Depending on the level of enthusiasm you develop for this new hobby, you can probably get by with as few as three clearos or may wind up collecting as many as 100 fancy rebuildables!

In the short term, I would recommend getting around three or four of the basic Stardust clearos (CE4s). Most reputable vendors will offer them at a very reasonable price (less than ten dollars). If you want to step up to something a little fancier and more high tech, you may want to consider purchasing one of the Kanger BCCs (Bottom Coil Clearomizers) such as the T3S, EVOD, or Protank. The nice part about having a couple of extras is that it gives you the ability to have one dedicated to a given flavor e-liquid - it's very difficult to clean/flush the silica wicks in them (in fact, many say it's impossible) and honestly, with the low cost of replacements, it's not worth the effort.

From there, you can start branching out to variable voltage devices or fancier cartomizers/tanks/etc. But I would suggest not overdoing it right off the bat - focus on getting a system that's good enough for now, and enjoy being smoke free!!!

I find CE4s to last me 2-3 weeks with a flushing and dry burn every 3-4 days. (about 2 fills per day) That's just a general rule of thumb...some die quickly some last longer.

If you are using a 510/ego battery, you might try a CE5 or similar type that has replaceable heads...they should last quite a bit longer.

Flavors are very personal...so get small samples and have fun. Remember that your tastes may change as your sense of smell and taste changes.

I bought a ton of clearo's when I first started vaping because I wanted to try a bunch. Most are supposed to last between 2-4 weeks, depending on use. I have had bad luck with CE4's/5's/etc... in the past. They do give great flavor, but must not like me because they die on me much quicker than the general rule. I would say to get around 4 or 5 clearo's and just to be sure. That way if one or two gives you a hard time, you can wait until more come in the mail. Many now have replacable coils, so you can change the atomizers on them. However, most replaceable coils cost around $2 and depending on how much you paid for your clearo, may not be worth replacing. I would also recommend trying different kinds. I made the mistake of picking up MT3's in every color, only to find I like Vivi Nova's better, haha!

Another good option is to pick up some cartomizers in case of a rainy day. They are pretty reliable and while they may not look to best on an eGo, they are pretty reliable.

A friend of mine who has vaped a while. suggested to me to keep it simple. My first rig was a Ego Twist, a slim XL carto tank, and prepunched XL LR cartos. He suggested the VV, so that I could try various juices, and be able to find the best setting for them up to 4.8 volts.

Real simple set up. Still use the basic setup, even though I have gotten another rig.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. :) I'm a newbie, too, at around a month of vaping, but I have to disagree just slightly with a previous poster who said you might should wait on a variable voltage unit. I've found that I *hate* vaping some juices at one voltage but love them on another. VV adds a lot of flexibility and the price difference is pretty nonexistent. (I have an ego Twist)

Good luck and happy vaping!

When you say "tank" are you referring to the clearomizer? (Sorry, still learning the Vape language!) :)

Am I able to pick a different type? I didn't realize that was an option... Will any one fit?

Hi and welcome to ECF. CE4 is non rebuildable while the CE5 has a replaceable head (coil+ wick). With your eGo battery you can use anything that's 510 threaded or eGo threaded.
There are MANY tanks/ clearomizers out there. Just be aware that some "acidic" juices will melt some plastic tanks. The ProTank is glass BUT I would wait for the Version 2 to be released IMO.
With clearomizers my heads, with washing and dry burning, are lasting 10+ weeks. Easy to replace (10 secs) and inexpensive ($2.00). I use the Vision brand Mini Vivi Nova. When buying anything be wary of clones/ knockoffs.

You'll find there are 2 different types of clearos- bottom coil (element is at bottom of clearo) and top coil (element is at top of clearo). Bottom coil gives a cooler vape while top coil gives a warmer vape. CE4, CE5 and Vivi Nova are top coil.

People refer to clearomizers as "tanks" all of the time.

I'm assuming you have the disposable CE4 and not one of the rebuildable versions. They can last several weeks with daily use if they're well cared for (washed daily). I have one that's still in service after almost two months, but I only use it a few times a week. I like them because some of my liquids are colorful and I like to easily know which flavor is which.

You can use any clearomizer system that is eGo compatible. That includes a whole bunch of options, including glass, plastic and metal tanks.

There are rebuildable versions of your clearomizer. Rebuildable means you can take it apart, remove the atomizer and replace it with a new one. There are other rebuildable systems available that might be better for you. The Kanger Evod and MT3S are similar sized tanks. Their atomizers are on the bottom of the tank rather than at the top of the shaft. Those tend to last longer and are cheaper to use in the long run. I like those, too. They perform better for me and they're tough little boogers.
