Newbie31 - i love it that you're doing this research for your dad. And that you're focusing so hard on what you hope will "do it" for him.
I love it too that the good people of ECF came out again and are trying to assist you. God i love this place.

Is there any way you could show him the responses you have had in this thread ?

I sure hope you can help toward this goal you've set. Because as you know from experience quitting analogs is well possible with an e cig. Success stories abound through page after page of threads here.

I have all my virtual fingers crossed for you buddy.....good luck.

If he really won't consider something larger like the Igo or GoGo, get him what he's asking for. It works. I was a heavy smoker for over 37 years and I quit instantly with the KR808D-1, the Vapor King from Vapor4Life. If you buy the XL manual batteries (get extras) and 36mg cartomizers, it will be a very effective e-cig setup for your dad.

Having smoked cigs for 45 years (I'm 63.4 right now :2cool:) and being a two PaD smoker for the past 25, I haven't touched tobacco since my eGo kit arrived 44 days ago!

May I caution you that he really needs to want to quit for ecigs to kick the tobacco habit. If not, then he'll create 'excuses' and find faults (too much hassle, no taste, etc) with the weaning process.

If he's truly willing to quit, forget the cig PVs and small batts. In my case, the eGo Mega kit kicked me outta the ashtray and I'm not going back.

I admire your intentions and wish you and your Dad heavy vaping! Keep us posted...

Thanks for all the great suggestions and feedback! I ordered the Bloog kit and an echo kit. Both of them had some interesting features that I would actually like to try myself! So nothing will go to waste there I'm sure. And I have several egos if he wants to give those another try, or try dripping.
I also found some 48mg camel juice at myfreedomsmokes, so I got some of that too. will let you know how things go!

Thx again

Like most people, he wants to quit... Who doesn't? Smoking is like synonymous with puppy killing these days.
But seeing people he knows are clearly addicted to cigarettes, make the switch... I think he sees that it's actually a possible replacement. Combined with the cost factor of analogs, he's willing to actually give this a shot. We'll see!

I'm 70 and smoked off and on for 55 years and I've been off of cigarettes for 18 months. I would recommend the Echo 1300 automatic battery with the 3,5 ml carto. Easy to fill and will last him all day without messing with anything. I've tried most of the popular PVs and the Echo works best for me. You can get a kit here for 50.00 plus 5.00 shipping. Please let us know how he does. I, along with all of us here, wish him success.

That's awesome! I can't wait to read your update after you've introduced him to these new models!

FYI the Bloog was a hit!

the echo was too big, and apparently he really wanted something cigarette sized.
So good call on the Bloog! i'd never heard of that one, so thanks for the recommendation!

And just for reference in case anyone is shopping for a new automatic, he also tried a 510 automatic, and he said the Bloog was definitely better. So I guess I'm going to have to try that one myself sometime, because apparently it's a winner!

Now he'll just have to narrow down a flavor he likes. hopefully he doesn't have as many failed juice purchases as I did until he finds the right one.

Oh and I think the 36mg cartridges that we got w/ it will be fine. He may even get some 24 instead. so nic strength didn't need to be crazy even tho he is coming from unfiltereds. we'll see when he tries it out a bit more.

thanks again for all the feedback!

Great to hear but keep that Echo around because most of us started with a small PV but soon tired of recharging and refilling. The main thing he is off the cigarettes and you have a great PV in the wings.

Oh man, that is brilliant. thank you so much for the update. I hope he likes it more and more as so often happens. And ends up kicking the nasties in to touch.
I've had my virtual fingers crossed for you here. As others have i'm sure. I hope you have some more good news to post here yet.

Good luck to you and your Dad.

That's great! The Bloog is a lot like the KR808D-1 model. I really think that more beginners should be steered toward these models because they work very well. The various "Go" models are good, but I think they're a bit off-putting for many newbies. It's a process.

I agree. The first one I tried after the blu was a kr808 and it was great. The only reason I switched is because the ego got very good reviews (and the ego is a completely different animal really, plus I use a passthrough). But since it's 510 threaded, I got 510 automatics so that I could use the same cartos. The kr808 I remembered being better, but I didn't want to be juggling two types of cartos.
So yeah I'm surprised the kr808s arent the go-to model that the 510 seems to be.
Although, I think the brands that have mall carts, like 'smoking everywhere' are kr808's. So I guess a good portion of people get to start out with them :)

Well you picked a great KR808. I have the Bloog and I've tried others 808's as well. The Bloog (and the Volt) is head and shoulders above a plain old 808.
