CLIFF NOTES: Father smokes 4 1/2 packs (Menthol - 100s) a day for 51 years. I want to get him to start vaping to at least cut down on some basic health risks. What would you suggest for him? He wants something light-weight, easy to maintain, and gets a good drag. Any suggestions on how much nicotine he should get?

EXTENDED VERSION: First of all, I've been smoking my DSE901 on and off for about a year. I do like the taste and am pretty content with the DSE901.

The problem I'm having is with my father. My family consists of a LOT of HEAVY smokers. I smoked 3 packs of Reds for about 6 years, then switched to Marlboro lights for the next 4 years. My father on the other hand, smokes roughly 4 1/2 packs (90 cigs) a day - Menthol 100s. He's done this for the last 51 years.

I know he's more addicted to the habit of smoking rather than the nicotine. It's just something that runs in our family. I'm looking for some suggestions for something light-weight, easy to maintain, and gets a good drag. Any suggestions on how much nicotine he should get?

Thanks for the help!

I didn't know there was enough time in the day to smoke that many 100s.

The good news is that I think it's easier for a menthol smoker to shift over to vaping. Menthol is much easier to simulate, IMHO. Being that menthol packs its own throat hit he should be able to get away with 16mgs of nic or so...

I purchased a penstyle a year ago & didnt like it because of the size. I smoked it on & off. A month ago I got a 2 piece just like an anolog. I quit in 4 days, just because it was like an antolog. I now like the pen style just as much. Got over the small size. I just purchased a VP2 which is a lot bigger then an anolog. I got it for longer batt. life. You might start your dad on the 2 piece & get him into the larger on after he gets used to it. Good luck.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I really appreciate it!

He doesn't take heavy drags, but he doesn't want to really suck on it to get a drag. The thing I want to do most, is emulate a cig as much as possible for him. He's extremely close minded when it comes to quitting smoking and is only willing to try this for 3 days, tops.

It looks like I'm leaning towards a pen-style, but not too sure which one has the longest battery life and easy of use.

For those of you wondering, I've never met someone in my entire life that has smoked as much as he does - ever. We both smoke in the house (my poor mother is an ex-smoker). He used to be an accountant, but has now retired. I think a hands-free vaper isn't that much of an issue really. The irony of all this? No cancer or other chronic problems... yet. I have no idea how, but don't want him to take the chances any more. Once again, thanks to all of you and your suggestions!

Well I think that the closest you can get to looking like an e-cig would be a 510 titan from totally wicked with the mega batteries and the mega attys and carts. That way he will have long lasting batteries, and a longer lasting cart that he will not have to fill up as ofter unless you get him pre-filled carts.
