So I have a ton of sample flavors, some of them I kinda like, some of them I don't like at all, and some I hope will get better with time. The problem is that they all seem to be way too sweet right now. Is this a common thing? I know my taste buds are changing (only been at this a month or so) but I'm not sure what to do now. Do I try something menthol-y? or more tobacco-y? I'm in a bit of a stalemate with my tongue!

Let's see...Lots of different ones. Vanilla (several different ones) Chai (several of those, hate them all!) Orange Cream, Orange Delight, Black Tea, Waffles, a couple of different licorice, black cherry, several RY4's, too many more to get into. Tried several different vendors as well. EC blends, My Vapor Store, the Vapor Room, Kick Bass, Mt. Baker

I think I've hit a plateau of sorts. I was trying out several that had steeped for about a week and nothing tasted right at all. I think I just need to ride this out rather than try buying new ones. But I just don't know. I haven't settled on a favorite for sure, but right now I don't even have a "maybe". Very frustrating. Maybe I just shocked my taste buds into hiding!

Grey matter from mister e liquid is a not very sweet tobacco flavor that packs ahuge tg.

Alice in vapeland specializes in subtle flavors, and none of them are too sweet.

The plume room has a nice variety of flavors, from subtle to bold, and they have all categories of flavors....fruit, dessert, menthol, tobacco.

They would be my suggestions for you to start with... Hope that helps.

I had much the same issue. The upshot was that as my sense of taste returned I didn't like sweet things. At all. Even now I avoid dessert. It's cloying.

It can help if you isolate what you do and don't like about a flavor, make a list, and then start looking for flavors that have descriptions that are all on your "like" side of the list.

I ended up having to DIY, but that's rare. I really can't tolerate a sweet note at all.

I do find that Taste buds change on us...especially in the beginning. I used to hate tobacco flavors, now I love them. And I used to like menthol...now I don't. I will say, finding vendors that you at least love the quality of their juices can help allot. You may occasionally flip which ones are your favorite, but chances are they make other flavors you will like too. I tend to favor boutique/artisan vendors with natural flavorings the most. They seem to produce the most accurate flavors.

You tastes will change so hang on to all of them and try them again in a month or so.

I have not really tried any sweet ones yet. I mostly am into tobacco and fruit flavors, and I often mix the 2. I was thinking maybe a bit of a tobacco flavor would mellow out the sweet without lessing the nic level. In a small unused bottle mix a smaill amount up and try it. If you don't like it then you haven't wasted much. I do like 90% tobacco and 10% vanilla or whatever. Maybe try it the opposite way?

I'm just impatient! I want to find that elusive all day favorite! But if the sweet thing isn't working I'm not sure where to start next.

Well how long of a wait is it for you to get your aiv order? They really might work very well for you, they have a sweetness buy it is very subtle. In fact, there is nothing overpowering about any of their flavors. Which ones did you get?

And tobaccos might also be right up your alley right now... Just stay away from caramel, honey or maple tobaccos. I like the sweeter tobaccos, but it sounds like you might be after something different.

I assume your trying to work with the liquids you currently have and not looking for more suggestions on what to buy.

The very sweet flavors, you can purchase a product called Vape Wizard from one of the DIY suppliers. You use approx. 1 drop for per 5 ml. If you can't find this there's AAA Magic Mask made by Flavourart. Vape Wizard contains magic mask and this will help balance a flavor.

Bitter Wizard will take the sweetness out, this is especially good with tobacco flavors.

They're both fairly inexpensive and may save a liquid that's otherwise unvapable.

When you first start vaping, most sound better than they taste. Best to stick with one or two that are tolerable until you settle on what you actually like. Otherwise you'll spend a boat load of money and end up with a table full of liquid you won't use.

It's available many places but here's a description-
