Okay, so I've been vaping and analog free for nearly 6 months and the experience has been outstanding. I've even helped 30+ people drop their analogs for and pick up an ecig. I've been very content with the joye ego using boge 510 cartos but lately I've been wanting more. I've not been very satisfied with the throat hit/vapor production of my cartos after a refill or two and was wondering if I could get some advice as to what direction to take it. I'm currently vaping pg mixes at 18mg nic. Throat hit is the main thing I'm looking to produce because that's basically what made me enjoy analogs so much (Smoked newports) So in a nutshell, what should I seek to give more of a throat hit even after the initial fill?

Thanks so much for any help you guys can give!

What you're probably going to hear next is how you should try this mod or that mod. Possibly changing over to variable voltage. If you don't mind carrying around a large box or spending an arm and a leg, this would probably be the way to go. Everybody and their dog has come up with a mod of some sorts. Seems to me, from what I've read, that a non-mod actual production e-cig that might be better would possibly be the Go-Go. It seems to have some technical issues though. Looks like it's just a one time fix with some sandpaper or a sharp knife. Good to go after that. Your best bet would be to read as many threads as you can on comparisons of your ego to other e-cigs, and other threads on mods you might be interested in. Nobody can choose for ya. You know how you like to vape more than we do :)

Thanks for the quick responses guys. lol I know what you're saying about mods. I have a friend that I got into vaping and he's bought a ton of different mods and such just to try them. I've thought about going the battery mod route but lower resistance cartos sounds like a cheaper start. I've been thinking of upping the nic in my juices but I feel that may be a step in the wrong direction since I've done so well with 18mg but I may get a small bottle to see the difference. Thanks again for the responses guys :)

You've been doing this longer than I have so I'm really in no position to give advice but I keep some higher nicotine juice around for those times. I get the peach juice from Vapor Bomb, it comes in 24 and if you ask them, they'll even make it in a 30 for you if you wanted to go up that high (you probably don't, but it's available). I add a couple drops of Artic Ice to it because I'm a menthol vapor also and it's great.

vv mods are nice but without a good carto it doesn't matter how expensive a mod you get. Been using ce2's in various revisions for a year and a half. 2.4-2.6ohm clearomizers give me the best performance and flavor the longest. I can use 1 for a month with a few cleanings. I probably fill 10-20 times before I pull it apart and give it a rinse and dry burn. You will want to read up on how to get the most out of them. The joye ego is regulated to 3.2v so if you had an unregulated device you would get more wattage at the coil. For something similar to the boge's but work well after multiple fills, I've heard good things about these. They are the lowest resistance you could use with your ego.

And if those LR don't work for you, might I suggest a cheap mod?

If you've got any soldering ability, MadVapes has kits available (relatively cheap). And although I don't have it, highping also did his own boxmod for less than 10bucks, plus shipping.

Or if you prefer the eGo style, there's the ePower where (I've read) it actually spits out 3.7v as opposed to the regulated 3.2 on joye products.

From what I've been reading, giving your atty a good cleaning makes the TH like the first time. Highping has a great post on the topic:

My Atty Resurrection Method

I hope this helps :)

I'm afraid to say that is mostly BS. The exception being if you clean them every night, it might help keep them performing better for 4-5 days.

I've vaped 15+ different PV's. I can state for a fact that vaping using a good 5 volt or variable volt PV will provide better throat hit and more consistency. LR's are a step in the right direction but do not hold up that well or provide the consistency of a good better battery device. The other part of the TH equation as mentioned is your nic level, higher being better.

For a straight 5 volt PV, I have to recommend the GLV2 from: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

On the variable volt side there are number of good ones. My preference for many reasons but mostly due to the ease of use, battery life (21+ hours) and consistency is the Darwin: Nhaler

Good Luck

HI- 1st post here, so bear with me,please. Been vaping since Nov 2010- and went thru a lot of trials & tribulations with mods and ego variations. I have 4 riva's and 4 mods ,all 510's. After 6 months I am having the best experiences with LR carts in all of them. Especially the ones from ikenvape [also like the standard ones] . I am currently trying the Cannon Drip tip from Cherry vapes for the 306 lr atomizers and like it alot [not a cartimizer, but holds a lot].hope that helps. Thanks to all on this forum for all the help and support.

I have a couple e-powers and love them. They do put out 3.7 and they use 1300mah bats that last me all day. I have other expensive vv mods but use the ~$25 ($35 with bats) epowers more often.
