I am currently a retired veteran and extremely bored. I have a good life and plenty of time on my hands so I am seriously thinking about opening a brick and mortar vaping shop near my home in NE Ohio. The idea is still in it's infant stages but I would like to hear from members what type of inventory everyone thinks I should carry. I have a good idea of what I like but I would like to know what other people think. I have someone who has experience in opening and running a small retail shop so I would like to hear what others consider the "perfect" shop.

Thanks,

Keith

hmmmm.... no where near ME darnit. still... variety of PVs.. more than one brand of liquid. um... don't sell just cartos or just atomizers. Give people a choice if you can. adapters and battery extenders. see if you can carry cig-alikes for people that like them. PVs pipes and e-cigars. probably less of the latter two given the current culture, but allow people the choice. See if you can get a loveseat and a couple of chairs for people to sit at and socialize in, since that will make them want to come just to visit and they may buy more. That's all I can think of from a consumer point of view...

I think I would do some Serious reading about what the FSA is up to Before thinking of Dumping your Life Savings into a B&M Shop.

That is, Unless you are Fabulously Rich and might need a Tax Write Off.

I thought about that nasty ole FDA thing, and I figure that since the idea is still just a little nugget in my brain pan that I'll have time to see what they're gonna do.

And as for the fabulously rich thing...... Shhh, don't tell anybody :p

Take a look at Stormy's Vapor Cellar. Very smart inventory. You may however, get discouraged by all the Government paperwork small business owners have to file. Along with all the contradictory regulations. From what I've been told recently, the Chinese wholesale market is getting even more cut-throat than ever. There is a very small profit margin.

Thanks Boomer, I'll definitely look into what you said.

I think Caution would be the Word of the Day when considering any Capital Expenditure regarding e-Cigarettes or e-Liquids right now.

It is Unclear just what Will and Will not be allowed to be sold and in What form in the future. But most will Agree that the Landscape of Vaping is going to Change.

And change is a Bad Thing for a Start Up.

Imagine having 15K worth of e-Liquids in a B&M shop only to be sent a Notice that your Business License does Not Permit the sale of “Tobacco Products” in your current location.

BTW – I’m Fabulously Rich also. I just live Month to Month with No Savings to see how the other 90% of Americans do it. ;)
