I've been having an issue with flooded cartos in my carto tanks. Since the cartos seem to perform flawlessly when I'm inside, in the air conditioning, and then start to flood when I get into my car that has been sitting in the summer sun, I'm guessing that the heat is thinning the juice and causing the problem. If that's the case, I'm guessing others have had this issue too. So, I'm wondering if any one else has noticed the same pattern?

Either way, I'm going to try switching from the 2 hole to the single hole cartos to see if it helps.

Same experience here in Florida. Going from AC to 90+ degrees and humid the air inside the tank expands and the juice has nowhere to go but into the feed holes flooding the carto. This has even happened with 1 hole cartos for me. I usually use my carto tank inside only during the summer and take a non-hole carto outside to join a smoking co-worker outside.

I'm going to try out a protank as well for the summer months since they are not air tight tanks. Good luck!

I moved from ProTanks to Carto Tanks. I will say, other than the odd occasion I didn't really have any flooding or leaking issues with them. My Protank problem was one of consistency. When everything was working well they tasted great. But more often than not, I was either getting a burnt or a metallic taste out of them.

The problem cartos are pre-punched, 2 hole, smoktechs. I just got some Boges and some single hole Smoks to try out. It's been unusually cool here the past few days. So, I haven't been able to see how they'll stand up to the heat. But, I suspect you are right about the Boge's. I popped one in a tank and the filler is much denser than it is in the Smoktech cartos.

Just came across this thread as I was about to post something very similar.
I've been using a protank for a while now, having the same problem as the OP. I live in Florida if it makes a difference. I just bought a cartotank to see if it would make a difference and have yet to take it from the a/c out into the heat. Then I read this thread.
Bummer.

Im a cableguy and my pv's sit in the truck during the day. I experience the same issues with carto tanks flooding in the heat. Juice vg/pg doesnt seem to matter. I have had it happen to BB which is 100% vg and my 50/50 mix of 555. It's the dam heat thinning out the juice. I have been toying with the idea of making some sort of holder that incorporates one of the gel packs that you freeze to keep them cool. Just haven't got around to it.

Hi everyone, just read this post and have a question. I also live in Florida as well. I have never taken my carto tank outside my house. I was just curious as to how delicate these cartos are. Is it the second the temprture changes that the flooding will occur? So I step outside from AC to heat it will flood? Or is it more in the course of some kind a time spam like over 10 minutes of heat then it starts to flood?

I guess what I am trying to ask is, is it safe to take my carto tank to my car, go to work. Step outside the building ( hot out side ) for 5 minutes, have a few vapes, come back inside to work and be ok?

In my experience, going outside in the heat, the carto tank (and now the Protank) starts leaking in about 2 min due to the temperature change. I have no issues bringing either to and from work, just when stepping outside to vape. I think the combination of the temperature change and taking a draw is causing the flooding. I'm going to use a non-tank carto from now on while going outside to vape during the summer months.
