What's up people? Name's Brian and I'm ASIAN ! Anyways, I'm on my quest seraching for e-cig and stumbled to this site so just want to holla and let you all know how much help I've gotten from days and nights of researching.
So, first off, I used to be a heavy analog smoker for like 3-4 years. I quit since last summer and have only had one during Christmas because I was partying too hard :p. But since then I've realized that I still want to smoke but don't want to get started and stuck again after the hard work. So here, with e-cigs, I found a safe haven.
So, I have always seen myself as the "physical" smoker more than the "mental". Meaning I enjoy the act of smoking than to feed my cravings, or at least I hope I am. Anyways, I'm glad that e-cigs all offer non-nicotine one and that made me want to just pick one up again and start smoking (well I guess I should start using the word "vaping" eh?) again. So far, I've considered the 510s (noobie default), the blus (cheap and looks cool), and the green smoke (really freaking expensive but I heard good stuff about it). So, I'm hoping to look for some honest opinions. Right now my mind is more inclined towards blus because it's the first one I've came across and it's kind of burned in my head, plus the cool look multi-flavor , and 30 day return is a bonus.
So, after researching for hours again today, here's me writing an intro to myself and even I am getting bored of myself. Mainly with e-cigs I'm looking for a way to start getting the smoking feeling and enjoying different flavors. SO, please, honest opinions people. Thanks, peace.

510s are a good gateway - some of us stay with em too :) Cheap, good vapor and TH.
I got mine at Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. - $35 for 2 PVs, charger and a set of pre-filled carts (you would go on to buy juice to refill the carts btw and you can buy juice in so many places) Shipping was very fast. You can buy 510s or rebranded 510s at many other places. I didn't want one that looked anything like a ciggie btw - I don't want people to think Im smoking when Im not :) Also the cig-alike ones are just too small.
There are KR8s as well - those are 2 piece models and about as popular as the 510s.
Don't know much about greensmoke or Blu - their names don't appear very often here except for 'do you know this one' questions, so I don't want to diss them but don't see much here about either one. It may be they don't have many mods or are only compatable with themselves, tying you into to a 'one supplier' deal.

For almost the same price as the blu starter kit I got 1 e kit of 510 and Kr8- the two more popular types of e-cig. I'd say regardless of what you go with, coming here and doing your resurch is a great way to start. I almost got a blu myekf (their website is very attractive) but changed my mind when I saw the downsides of that particular brand.

Good luck and welcome to vaping!

Thanks you for the suggestion, I have been seriously considering just trying a 510 instead. Here's a noob question, are there different brands of 510s? Or just different sites that sell them :s, I have been going around look for cheaper price with the option of non-nicotine + flavors but have yet found any. I'm really tempted to buy the kit you suggested but they only provide Marlboro High, while I only want non-nicotine so I'm not sure what I'll do with those cartridges. But I agree with you tho, since I believe if I do enjoy vaping, the next thing I'll do is wanting to try as many flavors as possible with juices since they're cheaper.

What downsides are those? I'm curious as I haven't really read much about that except I do agree with CaptJay that they're probably not open to modding or refilling with juices.

So, thank you all for the quick reply. I think I'll try with a 510 since almost everyone brought them as their first and most loved it. So here my next set of questions, first is where can I buy my first kit of 510 cheap hopefully with the option of non-nicotine and a variety of flavors (or sample pack works with me)? If that one is too hard, I might just go for CaptJay's suggestion and probably just throw out the cartridges and start with filling my own already :p Second, where would be a good place to find good juices maybe with again sampler sets? Thanks in advance, can't wait to finally order my first ecig sometime this week :D

Welcome devilazy to the forum! I think the best place to purchase your 510 is at Cignot. Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. They have the best prices and the customer service cannot be beat. They do have ejuice but I would recommend trying ejuice from Tasty Vapor (My Fav), DIY Flavorshack, Ms T's and My Freedom Smokes. Good Luck and let us hear from you!

the downsides: from what I've gathered is low vapor production and an unreliable product. Now this is based SOLEly on reading about them since, as I said I changed over. I'm loving my 510 and Kr808. The 510 produces BIG gorgous clouds of vape and looks elegant (It's the 510 I'm vapin on in my avitar pic) the Kr8 holds more total juice, and is easy to put together. I've also found that the taste is a little nicer on them. Wouldn't give up either of my models, but I'll admit to loving the kr808 just a little more. Do some reading. The people on here don't profit from you buying one brand over the other usually. we just like what we like and want other people to be as happy as we are.

Welcome! I'll add my echo on the 510 from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store..

I started with the 510 and have ordered from them several times. Super fast shipping. The customer service is outstanding. They are always available to answer any questions and they take the time to walk you through everything.

I think the 510 is a really versatile e-cig and I personally love it.

One suggestion: Since you only want to vape 0mg (no nicotine) e-liquid, take a look at this site:

Tasty Vapor

They offer what they call "doublers" - No-nic e-juice in a variety of flavors (even custom flavors) for a really decent price.

I don't have experience with their product, but I'm waiting for my first order from them. They are very popular around the forums and get great reviews as far as the product and customer service. Look through the E-Cigarette Suppliers section of the boards as well as the E-Liquid Reviews. There is a lot of feedback there and you can get a handle on what suppliers are reputable, people's opinions of the products and customer service, etc.

One of the best things about vaping is all the options. We aren't locked into "tobacco". We can vape whatever appeals to us. It may sound crazy now, but once you get started you'll realize that no e-liquid will ever taste exactly like a cigarette... but I soon realized, *blech* WHY would I want it to?

Whatever you decide - Good Luck! Keep posting and reading - everyone here is supportive and helpful... and it's a lot of fun! :)

Wow, I didn't know about this so thanks a bunch. This certainly helped me setting my mind on a 510 more now lol.

I live in so cal like 30 mins from downtown, it sounds kind of creepy that you're asking but it's cool lol.

This site sounds great except, 4 oz. sounds kind of big. I don't know how many that is equivalent to but I really want to try out as many flavors as possible and having a huge amount won't help because I don't like wasting but let me know what your opinion on them is when you receive your order!

Now, my thoughts again. Yup, my mind is pretty much set on the 510 from cignot, just sent them an e-mail asking if something can be done with the fact that I don't want their high prefilled carts. So hopefully I'll place my order sometime soon enough. I hate having short term memory as I remember researching about the pros/cons regarding manual vs auto batts, but forgot now. I think manual was what I originally decided but I'm open to suggestions again, well especially since you all seem very used to the 510 with cignot that would help me more. Also, regarding juices, I didn't know you could have a mix of VG and PG together so I'm wondering which is better, more VG or more PG? I know some could be allergic to PG but I don't think I am, but I also heard that VG provides better flavor/vapor. So, correct me if I am wrong, btw just so you know I think for my first juice I'll go for tobacco flavor unless someone has a strong urge to stop me :p

Get a manual.
Also you can get 0 nic juices at many places - Tasty vapor is a good one, tho he doesn't do sample sizes.
You can mix PG and VG quite happily - VG gives more vapor, PG gives less vapor but more taste and TH. I usually have amix of 70%PG to 30% VG or similar if its available. Some juices only come as all PG or all VG.

echo CaptJay - manual battery... pushing the button becomes second nature almost instantly and gives you total control over your "drags".

And, yeah - 4oz is an awful lot to have around if you don't like the flavor. Check around the E-Liquid suppliers section for vendors that carry sample sizes in 0-nic...

I like PG, or PG with a small percentage of VG mixed in. Unlike lots of people, vaping all VG kind of makes my mouth feel "filmy" or "coated".

BUT -taste is subjective and it's different for everyone, so play around with as many options as you can until you discover what feels and tastes the best to you.

Since you appear to want to try a lot of different flavors I strongly urge you to reconsider the KR8.

I have both a 510 (Mega Titan from Totally Wicked) and a KR8 (VK from Vapor 4 Life). I also only vape 0 nic juice. Both are great PVs in their own ways, but it is VERY MUCH easier to switch around flavors with the KR8. With the KR8 when you want a new flavor just switch cartomizers. With the 510 you will find overlap of flavors on your atomizers unless you use a new atomizer for each flavor (expensive) or thoroughly clean the atomizer (a pain in the ....) between flavors. I carry a couple of KR8 batteries and a handful of cartomizers with me and I can go from chocolate to blueberry to capuccino as easily as screwing on a new carto.

One very nice thing about Vapor 4 Life is that they offer sampler packs of their flavors like fruit bowl, berry bunch, holiday sampler, coffee shop sampler and desert sampler. In these packs you get five different flavors. They also offer small bottles (5ml) of most of their flavors. You can order most of their juices/cartos in 0 nic and they offer VG juice/cartos as well. They also usually tuck a few extra *goodies* in each order. Their Ultimate kits have everything you need in one package, including chargers, cases, PCC and passthroughs.

I got my 510 first and then got my KR8. I really wish I had gotten my KR8 first as it is so much easier to use. Whichever PV you decide on get a manual battery.

Good luck with your decision and happy vaping. :D

mmm more new ideas now... well first off, let me tell you that cignot's representative have replied my request and offered to switch the carts out with something else they carry. I haven't really looked through their supplies yet but I'm sure there will be something I want. Anyways, replies.

Yea I remember that manual was the better option, yaye. So I should search around for places to buy juice, but lately I've spent so much time on research I'm kind of getting tired :s

That was another thing I was considering, the trouble of switching around carts or refilling juices. I'm a really lazy person and I would really enjoy having less to do when switching around with flavors. I shall research abit more into the KR8 too. I think I've read about it around.

So, in conclusion, I'm still not ready to buy yet. Still have lots to consider and plan out (probably since I'm a perfectionist). Will update when I get my thoughts down.

ok, yes i'm creepy but that's not why i asked. figure since you're close you might want to try some hardware out.
Oh and it's fine ejoker, I was just joking. But yea if I get to try out that would be awesome, I've been trying to look for the kiosk in malls but have yet to find one. Although I can't say I tried around hard enough but hey I don't have a car so I did the best I could :(
