I have now had a few hours with the new family member and will make an attempt at an objective review. (Objective??? Who the hell am I kidding - this creation is simply fantastic.)

I do have a good grasp on precision machining, as I have been involved in it for the last 25 years. Hokie made a few comparisons in her post and I completely agree with her assessment. I also have one of the other high end PVs, along with a few additional mods, and nothing comes close to the Super-6.

To start, I will give a few impressions of my other high end mod. Concentricity of the adaptor was so far off that the lip extended over the edge of the body enough to catch on your pocket. (Not what you would expect from a professionaly machined piece.) The end cap and adaptor both had an unfinished look, as well as being out of round. A quick look at the switch design gives the impression of an assembly made in a China factory, by hand. The insulator was badly distorted and appeared to have been press fit with a tool that didn't match the profile of the part. The body had an extremely large vent hold dead in the middle of the body. Along with the poor astetics of the vent placement it wasn't even de-burred and sharp enough to cut my thumb. After a couple of uses, I noticed a scratch on one of my batteries and realized there was also a large burr inside the body. Had I not noticed it could have cut through the battery case and may have created a short. I am not trying to degrade this device but am attempting to provide an honest assessment.

With all that said, I understand the costs and time, involved with hand built products and am happy with the purchase. With a little effort on my part, the fit and finish are now acceptable and the PV performs as expected. This being an industry in it's infancy, we should expect a few imperfections.

Now to the Super 6:
This is the part where objectivity goes out the window and admiration take over.
Manufacturing excelence, would be the first term that comes to mind.
Button clearances are desgined for a smooth movement without alowing it to shift around creating the cheap feel of so many others. Both of my adapters are an exact match to the body and perfectly concentric. Machining of the adapter threads was accomplished at dead center and maintain alignment of the atty parallel to the body of the device. By designing 4 vent holes, evenly spaced around the body diameter, they add to the look of the piece rather than detract like my other device. To put it simply, Super T Manufacturing has done a superb job in machining this device.

The finish is easily on par with the attention to detail used in the maching process. Even under magnification, the finish is exceptional. David accomodated my request for adapters without the knurling although I expect it caused him some additional work. The transition from body to adapter, without the knurling, required additional effort to maintain the finish throughout and the execution was flawless.

Perfection in fit, function and finish describe the Super 6 to a T. (Super-T, that is.)

If you managed to get this far you must be wondering if it would ever end so I guess I have said enough.

Thank you David for an exceptionally crafted device.

Bob

P.S. I can't let it go without a comment about the lists and David's next creations. Just remember I am first.

Just got home to my new baby. The Super 6 is everything I expected and more.

I intend to spend some quality time and get used to all the details that make this creation special. A nice glass of wine and the new addition to the family will make for a perfect evening.

Thanks to David for the exceptional craftsmanship and well thought out design.

This is all I needed to read -- "all the details". I have a half dozen PVs on my desk or in my pocket. None have any "details" worth glancing at for more than a few seconds.

It sounds like you have a tool, no an instrument, in your hand, Bob. I'm happy for ya, bud. And, I KNOW you're a guy who knows quality when he sees it. Best of luck...

The wait is a killer but believe me - it was well worth it. You will be happy with your decision to buy from David.

We all know there are lots of Mods out and many at a lower price point. As I see it, there are really three decisions to be made.

Button placement on the end or side is a personal preference. I thought an end button would be uncomfortable untill I picked up a Screwdriver. I found it to be much more natural than trying to rotate the button into place, making it my first choice. I am sure lots of members simply haven't tried it and don't know what they are missing.

Next is price point. The Super 6 is one of the more expensive on the market but for a reason. In my opinion, it is second to none and the runner up is truly a distant second. While I may have a little fun trying out other the market options, my PVs from David will hold the number one position with the others being temporary toys.

Availability is the difficult pill to swallow, if you don't have a mod and are tired of the standard e-cig batteries. Anyone willing to wait will not be dissapointed and David is working hard to minimize this issue. The temptation is to buy a lesser quality PV, so you have one now. I did a little of each as the Super-T was actually my first mod purchase but I picked up a number of others to fill in the waiting period. Many of the others will now be sold as my initial choice is here.

Look forward to your comments when you get your Super Six.

Sorry I can't help you on pics or video.
I have no talent for photography so will leave that to Bandit. The photo shoot he did was nothing short of spectacular and covered every detail of this PV. Any attempt by me would simply downgrade to the quality of the Super Six.

Trulove produces some fantastic videos and I will leave that to him. (That complement was really difficult to type, since he keeps trying to jump ahead of me on the lists.)

I tried to discuss the finer points of the device and include some comparasons, in my review. Most I have seen, invest the time talking about the amount of vapor produced and don't truly get into the build quality.

P.S. Hey David - when can I send $ for my next one?

somewhere out there......
hey pipes I know what your saying. I wish I never got the 1 particular mod. Thank God I got it to work after having to take the button apart and put an industrial spring in it so the button will work. That mod cost me a lot and when I got it I had to do a lot of work to make it look good. from sanding down the sharp edges to cleaning the tube and putting a nice polish to it. Then 2 months later the button was sticking. I blew two atties because I sat it down and the spring inside the button wasn't pushing back so there was contact. I didnt know and luckly I picked it up a few mins later before blowing the battery.

So yes I cant wait to finally get a mod (SS) that works well and looks unbelievable. I will say the way the SS looks and how its built I knowit will blow away the mod I have. And from here on out I will only buy Supers because I know they are made with care and attention to detail.

Hang in there and you will see first hand.

I am actually tempted to bring this to work and have one of my Quality Techs set it up on some of our automated inspection equipment. As fussy as I am, I simply can't find a fault with the SS.

Another positive attribute of your SS is that unlike the woman in your life, it won't mind you toying around with lessor PVs.:D

The above thought probably caused by Tiger Woods Overload this last week.

Pipes:

I'm curious. How's that SS performing?

Specifically, I'm interested in how much e-liquid you use per day AND how long the 14500 batteries last. That is, if you're using the SS as a main vape and if you're using 3.7 volts most of the time. But, feel free to inform us of the 6 volt experience too, if that's your pleasure.

I'm trying to set up a few things on this end in anticipation of receiving the SS. Have you settled in on the 801 adapter or the 510? Did it take a lot of soul searching to find just the right air flow? Do you find that once you've successfully adjusted the air flow that you can leave it there, or are there times of the day where you change it up -- because you can? <g>

Signed...

SS envy in Long Island, NY.

(Oh, we're expecting a couple of feet of snow here. Will you be shoveling fair skies and 75 degrees weather out of your driveway?)

Hey Richie
Top o the morn, to ya

We had our vapers club meeting, yesterday, so I got to show off the SS. (Looks like David may have a few more orders.)

We have a couple of local suppliers that bring supplies and set up liquid for testing. The T-Tips were perfect for sampling a couple of drops of different flavors and a few of the group also had them. Nice addition to the PV.

The longer I use this toy the more I notice the details. (Like the perfectly cut threads that don't drive you nuts trying to put the adapter on.)

As for actual battery use, I am probably not the best one to ask. I probably only vape around 1ml per day and never even start to hit the drop off point on the batteries. I just pop a new one in every morning and toss the other on the charger. For work breaks I use my 10440 mods as I really like the small size, but the SS is my device for home. (Another push here for the Mini-T.)

In case you haven't already figured it out, I am also a pipe smoker so that accounts for the minimal usage in liquid. I have been smoking and collecting pipes since I was 16 and that was a long time ago. Vaping completely replaced my cigarettes from the first day I got a PV, and significantly reduced my pipe use, but I doubt I will ever totally give up pipes.

I feel for ya on the weather issue. We were running arount 75 so at least we could go out with only a medium jacket. The winter parka comes out at around 65 degrees for us warm country whimps.

Hope your SS shows soon.
Bob

P.S. I can't end this without trying a little Truelove mind control on David.

Typical CRS, for got to answer one of your questions.

The adjustable draw is fantastic. I find it allows me to adjust to the perfect air flow for any atty and really brings the 801 to life. I currently have 3 brands of attys and each reacts differently.

The TW atty is a hard draw, and I never really liked it. With some adjustments, the SS can make it acceptable.

Eastmall attys seem to be a little weak so a slightly tighter draw works best.

I get my SLB attys from ecigsupply. Chad is a great local vendor, as well as a subforum here on ECF. (Figured it would be OK to mention since David doesn't sell attys and our group here can always use another good supplier.) The SLB attys work the best for me. I am able to use a range of draw adjustments on these, with more control over vapor production and taste.

As usual - I started with a quick response and my fingers just went on typing.

LOL

Sherlock Holmes, I'm not. I took "Pipes" to mean that you were a steam fitter or something in the pipe trades. <g>

We've talked about this before... I don't want to use any aftermarket adapter on my SS but, there is a caveat to the adjustable draw that I found with one of my present (801) devices. Using a cheap thread adapter while adjusting the 801 draw feature, I found that I could adjust my 510.

Yeah, I'm a tweaker for sure. =)

Btw, I'm not an especially heavy vaper either. Maybe 2 mils a day. So, your battery information with your usage did help to give me an idea of what to expect. Thanks bud...
