You are correct in the CR123a / 16340 are different ways to describe this particular battery size and will both fit the ST2. I do use protected batteries and you will find both number systems used for protected and unprotected. Be sure you read carefully, if you want to ensure they are protected.

P.S. Please keep in mind we use 3.6/3.7 volt CR123A (AKA 16340)

I've been making a few minor changes to the design to make the button easier to depress and to the front adapter. Once i get it finalized, i'll put a batch in.

I'm still on the fence at the moment, I put myself on the list for one; although, I'm not sure now if I want one with a 901, 510, or 801. I have been using the 801 and fallen in love with it. I hope he sends some type of confirmation out before production so that hopefully I'll have made up my mind by then.
