From what I have seen many who converted from cigs to vaping just buy some more hardware everytime the urge to smoke hits them :)

Or just because we haven't bought any in a while. Or just because we can. :D Not having to pay that extortion for cigarette sure frees up a lot of funds! :D

I burned the pack of cigs. I put all my vaping gear away, because honestly, I was overdoing it and it was making me sick. I think that drove me to insanity, I was chain vaping without realizing it. I've been having enormous bouts of panic, I've been having nothing but trouble trying to figure out a PG/VG ratio that doesn't make me cough, and just argh.

I have a tank with a 1.2 coil on it filled with 3mg juice sitting here and I will only hit it when I have to hit it. Strange, my scratchy throat, hacking cough, deep lung wheeze and muscle aches all vanished with the two cigs.

Worse, I really liked them. Like...a lot. So I'm on hour 10 now. I guess. (It just sucks so bad to lose a 3+ month quit after one burst of insanity).

Just more funds for the wife unit to spend on the grandchildren.

Well since we stopped spnding $176/mo on cigarettes, I've got a pretty nice lineup of vape gear now, and my husband has gone back to his coin collecting hobby. He had to stop that, when the economy got so bad, he couldn't even get his regular 40hrs a wk, but now, we both benefit.

Sheila you're not tempted by the pack on the desk? I couldn't have them in my face like that.
@ScandaLeX, the one on my desk is where I took my last cigarette from on Jan. 7, 2014. I reached for it daily for awhile. I'd open it, see it empty and say, "You vape now.", smile and start vaping.

I really don't think 2 cigs means you lost anything, but rather gained much -- realizing that you really don't want to be doing that. I started my counter over because my relapse lasted a month -- if it had only been 2 cigs, I wouldn't have restarted it.

It was about $120/mo for me. Not a whole heck of a lot below that so far for vaping stuff though :)

I have had a total of 13 smokes since I started vaping. I did beat myself up over this at first but then said wow I could have smoked a whole lot more.
I stopped smoking for 17 years cold turkey. Even after all that time I wanted a smoke at one time or another. Then on very very stressing day I put one in my mouth and then smoked again for 6 years. Now I vape and I don't want the smokes most of the time. If I do I always keep a bottle of higher nic on hand and I puff that and then I am good to go.
Let it go and be happy :)

I am not sure that craving to smoke ever totally goes away but you can work with it. I started vaping and quit smoking 3 years ago and for the first year anytime I was around or smelled cig smoke I would become seriously nauseated and felt like it was choking me but after that it stopped bothering me. For the last two years I get cravings to smoke it seems out of no where, it always make me wonder why in the heck after years of being smoke free I would be craving a cig! ...but it happens. I have friends that after vaping for years have gone back to smoking and those that still vape or just quit smoking period say they still get craving to smoke even my mom who quit smoking 20+ years ago says she still gets them from time to time. When I get cravings I just keep pushing forward with my vaping maybe change to a different flavor or device and the cravings do go away. Just keep pushing forward change up your vaping a little, flavors, device, nic strength and such :) tomorrow is a new day.

I relapsed this morning after 93 days.

I don't even understand why/how. I have so much gear/juice that it doesn't even make any sense. I just had this huge urge to go buy some and I did, and I had two of them. It was like I'd never even stopped.

I am so guilty right now that I can't even face anyone I know. I don't understand why this would even cross my mind after 3 months...much less actually do it. I mean, there are several steps...drive, spend money, drive back, smoke.

Very unhappy.
So sorry for your relapse...so I guess nicotine probably has nothing to do with why we smoke analogs then. Hope you hop right back on the vape train.

What ever you nicotine level is, have one system ready to go with higher nicotine level in it for those times. 1 1/2 years later my wife on occasion has to go to my vape stand and grab one of my higher nicotine level one to get through the urge. CHEERS! and good luck to you.
This^. I keep a bottle of 30mg unflavored on hand for those occasions. I just drip it right onto my rda and hit it til the craving stops. Usually only takes a couple drops and two or three good hits. Then I drip my normal flavor right back in there and continue on like it never happened. Works great!

2 cigs is no big deal for what you havnt smoked in that time, everyone once in a while i feel the urge to have a cig, i think for a moment... hmmm the 13$ it cost for a pack of smokes could by me a nice bottle of something tasty, so off to my local shop i go and forget all about the cig, keep at it and remember you will allways have the support from all the fantastic people here at ECF. Happy vaping :)

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time with it all LiquidElectron!

Go for it :). Whatever works for you to get away from cigarettes is a good thing. It almost sounds to me like you may be having a reaction to something in your vape, but that's a whole other can of worms to work through.

Worse, I really liked them. Like...a lot. So I'm on hour 10 now. I guess. (It just sucks so bad to lose a 3+ month quit after one burst of insanity).

I hear ya. I had a couple of cigarettes after about a month of only vaping and then another one about a month after that. I really liked them too, but I didn't let it get to me and figured one or two cigarettes didn't make my quit a fail. Do what you have to do to succeed and best of luck with it :thumb:

It happens, just keep trying your best and don't feel so bad about it.

Whenever I have a rough day I drop a bit of WTA into my tank with my regular juice, it totally knocks out my craving.

As for the coughing and throat issues, I know for me different juice brands make a difference. While I enjoy the cheaper juice prices, I can't vape them all the time or I get the same issues as you described. I have to get some higher end to break it up. I don't know if it is the base or what, but there is a difference for me.

I guess I look at it like this - During those three months that were smoke free, you didn't smoke a decent number of cigarettes. That's a huge improvement, and one you should be proud of.

Yes, it's cool to be able to say you went three months without, but at the end of the day, the goal is to get the number of cigs smoked down to zero. And you're on a path to accomplishing that, which is huge!

Good luck. Every cig you don't smoke is a huge accomplishment!

I had a problem with my throat being scratchy and irritated when I was vaping 70\30 pg & vg I went over to 50\50 and it's been better for me and throat has calmed down. Sadly vaping isn't plug and play we are all individuals and what's right for one is wrong for another, try some different ratio liquids and find what works for you Liquid. As for the rest of it again we're all individuals and the journey for all of us is different my mother has pretty much switched to vaping apart from one cigarette a day with her main meal but that's not a bad thing. Take everything as it comes rather then it being a set plan and don't get yourself worked up over it you still have the control and it's your journey do it however works for you.
