I beg to differ a company listed on FB pays. They can list products, links, and videos. You don't think FB was a non profit organization.

You're coming into this discussion a little late... maybe you should read the rest of the posts on that subject!! :D

@dragonbone:

The next sentence was just as insulting as the one I quoted, as it was based on the first.

Or - if they (= old fuddy duddies or paranoid peeps, or privacy challenged people) just don't like it....

If you want to insult people for not sharing their life story and all their data with a big huge data-mining company, then that speaks about you. And you alone. Not about those whom you wish to insult with such childish means.

Thanks. Now, I don't have to say the same thing.

It's hip to hate facebook. And Wal Mart. Right now I hate my manual battery. You have to hold it just right. You have to remember to push the button. Gaaak!

It's also very hip to be anti Obama, to be vegan, to hate Apple products, to hate people who smoke, to cling on to paper books and hate electronic readers, to be pro guns, to be in therapy, to take anti depressants etc. etc.

Excellent analogy. I love it :). But, I don't know why, as I mentioned earlier on in the thread, I don't get ads. Maybe it is a regional thing. Maybe Americans get millions of ads, being big consumers. Just guessing. Or maybe it's the settings.

So my Facebook is like Reality TV, commercial free :p

The ecig community is growing by leaps & bounds. Small buisness owners have to use social media to get there name out there, it's just the way it is nowadays. I'd say ECF makes up less than .5% of vapers worldwide even as big as ECF is.. Theres a ton more people that are trying vaping everyday that have nothing to do with forums.. I think it would be funny if all the vendors just quit doing contest here for a extended amount of time.. It may just cure some of the give away your product but only in a way I want you to mentality that seems to be running rampant lately.

Years ago, when I was on f-book regularly, these were the targeted ads that appeared on my page one day. I think f-book should be more respectful when dealing with me since according to their own research I'm old, fat and have a gun.

OK, so it's $650 a year then. Not sure where the other $150 came from.

Well that isn't so bad for the ECF then. There are a lot of suppliers and and lots of forum members all paying their $24. 165'000 members!! Well not all of them are supporting members obviously, but I do believe that the ECF is doing quite nicely :p.

Less than 5% are supporting members.

I would much rather support a vendor on the ECF, who has at least gone through a screening process, and have the Forum as a back-up if something goes wrong... then to take my chances with some unknown commodity on Facebook!!

Vapers need to be educated about the ups and downs of ecigs, which is why I came to the ECF in the first place... and I thank the person who gave me the link!! :) (I always carry a supply of ECF business cards to hand out to people I talk to who are curious about ecigs...)

There are still a lot of people being sucked in by those so-called "Free Trial" scams, and I get more and more (junk) emails from them all of the time. Plus the ECF is a far better source of information than Facebook... (or Google)

Btw... I am not only a Contest Lover, but a Contest Giver, and I'm thinking that it's about time I had another one for the Holiday's!! ;)

All of the Giveaways I've held either had the prizes donated by vendors here... who were more than happy to be giving back to the Community... or things I had won in other contests. You won't find that sense of Community Spirit on Facebook!!!
