I will. I don't know if I even would have tried e-cigs without all the info on ECF. Now, after 30 years, no more analogs. Everybody here has been amazingly helpful. I just found the womens room about a week ago. Nice to see a spot of our own. I was just checking out the section tonight on mods. I love how its got to be functional and pretty. Me in a nutshell. LOL

I started vaping on May 18th, 2009. I took me about a week to quit smoking. I went to my allergy doctor last week for a check up that included a test to measure my lung capacity and the doctor was very impressed with my results. He told me I made his day and was very impressed with the e-cigarette. I have been going to him for many years and the lung improvement since I quit smoking was incredible (his actual verbal response was "holy sh--" which was appropriate for a 71 year old respected specialist).

I have noticed that I do not tolerate the smoke smell anymore....so I am a 100% success rate for not smoking...because of e-cigarettes! But, as we all know, you have to be ready to make the change.

One more thing, while grocery shopping yesterday, I passed a woman who was "hooked up" to a portable oxygen tank that she had in her basket....wow, that could have been me and it made me sad that if her condition was due to smoking, she did not have the opportunity (vaping) that we have now and will hopefully continue to have.

Good luck to all new vapers and there are always people here for support.

Hi Vapers,
Started smoking daily at 14, prior to that I 'sneaked' them from my parents. I can remember negotiating with my folks for a smoke at age 5. I am hopelessly addicted to cigs as I have proven to myself many times with my attempts to be "smoke" free. From prayer to patches, I tried every available source. I finally made peace with the fact, for whatever reason, I needed to smoke and surrendered. A process taking 55 years. E-cigs found me last year. Started w/ "Red Dragon" inadequate, others, finally, found Janty Stick+increased juice from 24 to 35mg. This combination worked for me. Vaping is more satisfing and enjoyable. Hoping it's healthier. I feel better. Good Luck to You, Keep Trying.

Hi MaryKay, all is well! Thank you.

Lucky Linda, I agree that vaping is more enjoyable by far. E-Cigarettes have been a god send! I hope more people discover this wonderful aid to quit analogs. I purchased the e-cigarette business cards from Zazzle that lists this website as well as cigreview website. I just want to let all smokers know that there is an easier way to quit.

I've joined the group. I'm struggling, but for a couple of reasons.

1) Right before I bought my Dura C (510), I had received my January monthly supply of analogs... Six cartons. I can't justify just throwing them away. I have almost two cartons left... Pretty good really. I would have ordered 12 more by now otherwise.

2) I can't seem to stop that first smoke of the day. I need that fast hit. I'm using mostly 36mg right now and am waiting for some 48mg from TV to arrive. I smoke American Spirits which have one of the highest nicotine contents, so I seem to need the high levels to succeed. I'm also going to try using a nic lozenge first thing when I wake up. Unfortunately, if I have that first analog, I seem to want to have more, setting a bad habit for the day.

I am down to about a half pack/day from 2, so it's a good start. This has been a 43 year habit for me...

I know what you mean about that first smoke of the day.

I know I can feel the cigarette nicotine so much faster and when I just wake up my body wants it NOW. Since it takes a while for the nic from vaping to hit I end up going with the cigarette usually. Plus, I'm too grumpy and subconscious driven when I wake up to assert much will power.

I'm not too grumpy, just unconscious and incoherent. ;-)

I do keep my analogs in the upstairs bathroom instead of the bedroom over night. We don't smoke in there at all. I then go downstairs to the kitchen to have my first one. I'm going to put the lozenges on my bedside table and grab that first thing. If I remember, I'll put them up there tonight... Sometimes I hate being ADD, but most of the time not. ;-)

Another thing that's making it tough to quit is the DH, Mark. He doesn't smoke anywhere near the amount I do, two cartons a month to my six, but he is still smoking around me. Our finances are going to be changing quite soon, so he is planning on quitting as well, but the immediate stress of the situation is holding him back. I've offered him my 510 to start with. He's thinking about it. I'm using the TornaGo now (one from TW and one from Dietsmokes).

The reason for the financial change is that, after 26 years, his company gave him the choice of us moving down to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, or taking severance. Our gut feeling (and some other evidence) is telling us if we did move, he would be layed off within 6 mo to a year anyway. He is taking the severance, but at 56, it's going to be very hard for him to find something else. Sigh.

Ohh hope the lozenges help! I too have hubby who is smoking and it does make it a harder.
That really sucks about the works situation with your husband. 56 is so young but yeah esp with the job market like it is now the reality is (not that any company will admit it) his age might make it harder. I really hope something comes through for the two of you. :)

Don't forget to visit Kat's Sub-forum here on ECF and share these stories with her group about your trials and triblations per quitting (or at least slowing down!) Let's all help her grow! It's a good thing to have lots of choices and places to post ( it keeps our minds off analogs and on vaping!)..and help someone struggling in the bargain!

Hey Gals,
A night time patch help me let go of the first morning smoke. Soon I preferred the vape over the smoke, made sure it was ready to go, without effort, first thing in the morning, I am ADD too, Daifne, I get it. Hope your Husband can switch over, my 'habit' is down to about $1.00 a day. Job market is tough, no doubt. Good luck to you.

Can someone tell me how to disable cookies so I can sign in on the chat page? Thanks!
