So, everyone in my office knows that I vape. I have a little fan at my desk that I use to dissapate the vapor, so as not to get complaints from the "everything somehow is all about me" people at the office. There are some everywhere I guess.

Anyways, I had just came in this morning and there were a lot of different VPs and Directors here that normally aren't. I was discussing a project with a coworker of mine and I proceeded to take a very large hit and produced tons of vapor, to which my coworker was laughably impressed. Then, out of nowhere, the VP of my department says (in a demanding tone) "What is that smoke from?" To which my cube was then surrounded by multiple other directors and workers that I normally don't associate myself with. He looks straight at me and I then show him my 510 and say "It's my e-cig, I quit smoking." He then looks at me and says, "oh, water vapor, right?". I reply, with a smile, "yes sir". He smiles and says, "I've heard about those" and walks away....

I thought for sure that I would have to have a "discussion". Everything went better than expected =)

So glad the word is getting out now.

The people in my company - all non-smokers - were so happy that I quit smoking that they have no problems with me vaping in the office. I usually have 4 or 5 PVs on my desk, which I use regularly, and I've had no complaints from anybody. Glad to hear that your experience with your co-workers is also not drawing any complaints. Most people I've run into are very understanding.

I took a different path, I knew I had HUGE support from my immedeate co-workers and middle managment for trying this instead of smoking. They had seen me fail many times to try and quit.

When I got my unit, I immediately went outside to Vape, and continued to do so, but middle management asked me to take a vape in their office once and laughed.

My co-workers and management went to HR in my behalf in support ( instead of complaints ) and told them that I should be able to vape at my desk.

HR came back and said as long as no one was complaining... that I could vape at my desk.

So now a company that had no policy now seems to have one that is positive instead of negative.

If I had just come in and started vaping at my desk I can guarantee the result would have been the opposite.

...and I carry several ECF cards to hand out to anyone with questions or showing any interest. There is a place on the back of the card where you can put your name/email/ECF name, etc.
It has been know to impress a few too. These are nice cards. Good stock and well designed. You can get 50 each month for $3.00 shipped.
My wife is an RN, and she hands them out to patients interested in quitting the cigarette habit. I tell them to look me up here and I'll get'em started.
