Hello folks,
It seems that it may be time again to explain to the membership the basics of surviving on ECF. Lately we have had a surge in poor behavior resulting in some bans that could have been prevented if the member had simply acted like an adult and followed the rules and exercised a small amount of restraint or common sense.
ECFs mission is to: Provide a world class information source for the vaping community in a work and family safe environment. This core mission statement implies a lot but is pretty self explanatory.
Our rules and policies are openly posted for all to read and by posting on this forum you show you accept these rules and policies. Rather than run through them one by one I invite you to read them by clicking on this link.
Surviving on ECF is pretty easy, all you have do do is think, "Is this something that a normal person would shout out in a public place?" or "Is this kind of behavior appropriate considering that this is supposed to be a friendly and family safe resource?". The odds are that if you use those two standards of conduct you will never even recieve a PM from a moderator unless it has to do with signatures or you are suspected of being a supplier or supplier's representative. The rules are pretty much common sense and support our core values and the mission of ECF. If you have any questions about the rules you can simply ask. My staff members are not ogres, regardless of what you might read on some of the other Vaping forums
Here are a three things that will absolutely ensure you do not survive your contact with my staff:
This list is not all inclusive, but trust me when I say that the staff are not losing sleep at night dreaming up ways to ban you or make your time on ECF less pleasurable. Thousands of people post here and never run afoul of the rules, all it takes is a little courtesy and restraint.

Here are a three things that will absolutely ensure you do not survive your contact with my staff:
- Repeatedly criticizing or arguing with the staff / starting ridiculous threads complaining about the rules or an infraction.
The staff is all volunteer and are following the guidelines codified by myself and SmokeyJoe to ensure the smooth operation of the forum. Quite bluntly, if you cannot be a functional member of the community, you are invited to take your disruption elsewhere. If you have issue with a ruling or staff action you can contact that staff member by PM and ask for clarification. If you are not comfortable with doing that you can contact me. Under no circumstances will I allow you to bash a staff member on the forum. - Abusing the staff by PM or email.
I get it -- you're angry that you got banned. Spouting off insults in a PM or email to a staff member only makes it less likely that I will reverse your ban on appeal. I am sad to report that a large percentage of bans are caused by a member refusing to just relax and think before hitting that send or post button. - Making multiple accounts to bypass a temporary ban.
This is a sure way to turn a 3 day cooling off into a ten day or even permanent ban. Sure you might get away with it for a little while depending on how backed up we are, but when you get caught you will end up being banned permanently.
