It's all good.

Make vapor, not war, right? :vapor:

Again as the post above clearly states it was a general, off the cuff, statement from observations I saw on here. I wasnt trying to start a kayfun vs genny war on an internet forum. I didnt say I knew that was the case, nor do I care. Just a light hearted statement said in my happiness of finally finding something that works for me.

Fixed top chimney? That was never a part of the design of any of these, was it? IMO 2-piece is good for final tests of your setup, when the main chamber is on and whatever may be touching it during use is.

Still a two piece chimney, but with the top piece made into the top cap, like the taifun.

Screw in chimney to the top to hold pyrex glass side section should be in the new design. Also, tomb crews to screw coil with out a screwdriver, all and all better look, titanium versions with bronz and copper inlays, adjustable air control ring, adjustable or spring bottom contact, and so on. I guess that would be too good to be true then.

Ohh... almost forgot. I also want to see a new cool logo on the kayfun.

Sounds like some good ideas, but please please PLEASE, no springs...

logun.... I think you are asking what model has a fill valve.... From what I've read on the SV site the 3.1 has a fill valve. I have a Russian which I understand is akin to the 3.1 and it has a valve that I really like once I got the hang of it. I am planning on getting one of the SV's hopefully the 3.1 if any are still around and if not was hoping whatever they do offer will have a valve.

I have two authentic 3.1s never even tried to use them, Lites do the job. Personally I would like the new version to have a simple way to fill it.
Most likely there will be some sort of a valve or something to charge the premium price for.

Isn't it safe to say that each device has it's weak and strong points for every individual user? That is sort of a blanket statement to keep everyone happy.....lol. I've been finding recently for example that I enjoy my genny for custard juices and I'm glad I did not just give them up when I found the Kayfun type RTA's.

Safe and accurate. Was wondering what build you use in a gennie for custards. I just got my first custard and after trying it in a dripper I'm not a huge fan, and its a high quality juice so it's not that I'm just wondering if I'm not getting the same experience that others get when they all highly recommended this juice. Is it ss mesh, give me some recommendations as to what to try it in because I know this is such a great juice and vanilla custard is something I know I'd like so I'm hoping to get it popping just right. So far only dripped on .8 dual micros, will try kayfun when I swap out wick.

I use 500 SS mesh and 30ga wire @ roughly 1.6 - 1.8Ω. Not a very exotic set up but it has worked for me. Sometimes I will put an Ekowool "diaper" over the mesh, but both ways work fine in terms of taste. The way I figure it for something like custard, which is one of my favs, is to keep it cooler. By that I mean I do not use super low Ω coils. My gennies are all clones -- nothing fancy.
Been fiddling around with making the "ultimate" custard following some threads I found in the DIY juice section.... been doing lost of recoiling and mesh cleaning...lol

I also got my Kayfun from Vaperev. After watching riptripper a few times I got around to building mine and I'm in love! I am using my MVP2 and wanted to keep my ohms around 1.4 or so, and used a 12/13 wrap of 28g kanthal around a 1.4mm mini screwdriver and organic cotton wick laid on the deck as tripper showed. It came out exactly 1.4ohms and it hits like nothing I ever had before! I want more of them, but can't afford another Svoemesto, so I'll get some clones. What an amazing atty!

Isn't 28g at 1.4ohms way too much for an mvp2? Isn't the coil taking up loads to heat up even at 11w?

Yeah once my wick broke in a little bit it started tasting good but not phenomenal yet. Gonna try your build see if that helps. What do you mean about the ekowool diaper?

You put some Ekowool, the hollow kind, over the mesh wick where the coil will go. This makes an insulator of sorts to reduce or guess more accurate to say eliminate hot spots. Only problem is working with the Ekowool -- it frays badly and if you heat it enough to deal with the fraying, it gets stiff and that makes just as hard to thread on...lol. (Sort of you can't win for losing or something like that.) I do feel that Ekowool "diaper" is worth the time and you get a technique down that makes it pretty quick work after doing a few wicks that way. The flavor is fine with or without the Ekowool. Hope I explained it OK.... let me know if not.

I do hit the rope with the propane torch to get any oils from mfg and dirt that may have landed on it. It is mainly to "clean" it. I do the whole piece for that reason, but I do try to be reasonable with how long I heat it. I try to get it clean without making it glow too long. How is that for being quantitative?....lol
