the place off redhill had some rolls, but the loose packs were out of date (didn't notice till i got home, but still works, was in a little fridge there) $7/pack
I've noticed the General snus locator gives any place that sells General products, like Davidoff cigars, so best to call ahead, but have found another place on Goldenwest that's $6 single pack, discount on rolls

How far out should the expiration date read on snus cans when you buy them? I bought a few cans from a liquor store in LA about a week and a half ago. Went through two General Mints, were really great. Then I opened up a Wintergreen, and I thought it tasted really weird, wasn't taking to it like the mint (not sure if it's "bad" or if I just don't like it, but I can't finish the rest of the can, it disagrees with me).

Wintergreen didn't seem to get as "wet" after 30 minutes as the mint did (both white/dry style portions). I checked the expiration date and the wintergreen can expired in February according to the label (I checked the formatting, it definitely expired). I bought some Original General snus also, and I don't like that at all, makes me a bit nauseous actually. I think that's due to the flavoring. I hear the originals form General are an acquired taste.

Today I ordered from Northerner.com. I'm assuming they ship out pretty fresh stuff since they're one of the big suppliers. How far out is the date on a can of new snus from a higher-volume company?

I can't help you on the dating issue. Many of my cans are months old and have been frozen since I got them. I only pull out what I'm going to use in the next few days and at times, I'll go right from the freezer to lipping them. So far most have held up well. I myself have been really enjoying the Mint lately, one of my favorites at the time but that's always subject to change.

I may have had an issue with a General Extra Stark today or I was just feeling off this morning, but I felt like I was getting sick in the stomach but it went away. I wasn't feeling that well last night so it might not even have been the snus. I think I've had the Wintergreen but not recently. Can't say anything negative about it that I recall. Tastes change over time so don't totally discount anything you don't think you like today.

Sorry, but I never really checked the dates on my orders, just stock them away till I'm ready to use them.

Interesting about the stomach issue. The past three days or so I'd been using the Originals and Wintergreen every once in a while, and I had spells of queasiness and upset stomach 3 times. I just bought some new vitamins and I attributed the stomach thing to that, but each time I got the stomach feeling I had put a non-mint snus in my mouth a little while before. I can't say for sure the issue, I wish I had kept track of which can it was those portions came out of. That's actually part of the reason I can't finish those cans, I started associating them with feeling queasy, and I don't want to ruin snus by using stuff I don't like, or is bad. Can't say for sure if it's taste/ingredients, expiration/bad-can, or something non-snus related, though

    Somewhere between here and there
I sometimes get random queasiness from my vitamins I take in the morning. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. As far as the snus causing it, I have had it a few times when I used an extra strong portion on an empty stomach. On the expiration date thing, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I am working on a can of general mint right now that is about seven months past. I don't really notice any taste difference just that the moisture content isn't as much. I read an article over at snuson where they said that the worst thing for snus is big temperature variations. Some people freeze it or refrigerate it. I think that as long as it's kept in a place that is not hot and stays at a fairly constant temperature that it will last for a long time. On the general wintergreen, I tried it several times and just couldn't take a liking to it. It seems like it always would get funky tasting after a little while. I would guess that the expiration dates on the new ones you ordered will vary with the brand. Some of the ones I got in my last order were seven months good on the expiration.
