I like my 510 and don't regret the purchase, but some Ego reviews say that vapor and taste are improved in the Ego over the 510. I like the idea of the mega cart on the Ego and of course the batt life would be awesome. I can live with the 510 for now, but would gladly make a switch for more vape and flavor.

I'd love to get an opinion from folks who switched from a 510 to an Ego.

I switched....and I LOVE my eGo. I started with the 510 and really loved it...still do. But once I got the eGo, I use it all the time now. I've thought that I got better flavor, sometimes, on the 510. But the eGo really lasts forever (hours and hours) between charges, and (the best part) I got the eGo Mega carts and attys....and WOW! No only do they hold lots and lots of juice, but the vapor and TH are out of this world. My opinion. And one more good thing is that all my 510 parts (carts/attys) still fit the eGo.

Good question. Considering this myself. More for the battery life than anything else. I really like my Dura C (510) i think the vapor production from it is fine. My only complaint is that the vapor drops as the batter life drops. :( So more battery longer vapor. I'm going through about 5 battery charges a day on the 510. I just rotate off charging one and using one, but that means pacing myself for the several hours it takes to charge one. And carrying my charger to work :(. Anyway would love anyone's personal experience who upgraded to the ego.

Awesome!!!!! So if I just wanted to try the ego battery I could just buy just the battery and use my current 510 atty and cart. So my question is can the Ego batteries be charged using the 510 charger?

I think almost any big battery mod is better. Find an atty that suits you then get the battery that supports it. A big battery (450 mAh +) would enable you to try lr attys as well. I have a 510, eGo (knockoff), hello 016 and the Nomad (DSE-905V3). Of the PV's I own I seem to favor the Nomad over the others. The lr 901 atty (with carts) is working so well for me.

No. The chargers for the regular 510 and the eGo are not compatable (in either direction).

However, they do make an adapter to allow an eGo battery to be charged on a regular 510 charger (the description says AC charger, so not sure if there would be an issue with USB charger). Here is one I have seen at cignot: eGo charger adapter

My understanding is that use of this adapter results in a very long charging time for the eGo battery, but it seems like a good way to give it a test drive (just plug it in before you go to bed and it should be good to go in the morning).

I'm digging my 510, but I was going to get an eGo battery and this adapter to try it out myself.

Tasty vapor has the ego 900mAh batts and the ego charger for sale:) It's like $6 for the charger and it charges the ego batts in 1 1/2-2 hrs:vapor: You'll love it:laugh:

I was happy with my 510. I was not happy having to carry 6 batteries and the pcc and making sure that they were all charged constantly.

I got my eGo this past Thursday. The vapor production is heavenly....TH is closer to analogs. I ordered from Good Prophet and got my eGo in 2 days with the priority shipping (well worth the $3!). I also got cartos since I had not tried them but read that they would hold 1 1/2- 2 ml of juice. I ordered a couple of the eGo attys and WOW are they big! I haven't tried them yet. I have been using my 510 attys/carts with my eGo, no problems (unless you count having to refill more often). I usually have to refill the 510 carts every couple hours. The eGo battery lasts me from 7 am to 7 pm most days. I have filled and used 1 cartomizer. LOVE it! It holds enough juice that I wouldn't have to refill all day (if I could stick to one flavor :)).

I still use my 510 at night or first thing in the morning. I usually keep about 6 attys/carts all with different flavors going so having the extra parts is great!

The mega atties and cartridges will rock you.

I love them but cannot vape them constantly... they pack a hit.

I switch off between my Ego and the Joy 510 with Mega batteries....depending on what I am doing....Either are great but the Ego keeps going and going and .....etc...I also use
LR attys with both, so I need to "juice-up" a lot, especially when I am sitting vaping and reading or on the computer....If you find a good deal for the Ego....go for it....
Enjoy the Adventure...

No. The chargers for the regular 510 and the eGo are not compatable (in either direction).
Only because the eGo don't fit inside the 510 charger. If you use adapter it will work as the original.

And that way you should experience longer battery life, because 510 charger charges at lover C rate (150mA - 1/3 of eGo's charging current which is 420mA). It will prolong battery life for 20-30% minimum.

I started on an ego kit, but really recommend the janty usb passthrough ego battery for $30 - it seems like it'd be a great first step toward an Ego, if you don't need to start from scratch with atty's and such. (If you take a look at it - and jantyworld.com, go ahead and buy a cone for it while you're there, or at goodprophets.com, along with a drip tip or two.)

I got an eGo after using a regular (teeny tiny) 510 for many months - supplemented with a 510 PT (I still love my PT lol).
I also have a bigger battery now but yes I still use the eGo because its a nice bit of kit. I never regretted getting a 510 eGo, one reason because I can use my fave atties and carts on it, and the other being the longer battery life. It felt a little bigger at first (as the regular 510 is so small, the size of a pen, and the eGo body is the size of an AA battery) but now I hardly notice it unless Ive been using my big battery mod a lot and the eGo feels tiny in comparison to THAT lol.
I bought an eGo kit from cignot - I wasn't bothered about price because Id rather have quality than price anyday and I trust cignot as they have been excellent since I started vaping; I got my first regular 510 kit from them too. I got a titanium eGo and a black one (you can have different finishes in the one kit) and I must say the titanium one is very smart lol. Both manuals too, and Im actually using the cone as well although I honestly dont 'feel' a lot of difference but it does make it 'look' sleeker.

Yep. The battery is the only real issue with the 510, and the eGo solves that problem. Vapor production is better too.

I'm on my second day with the eGo (after using a 510) and the main reason I didn't buy one straight off was this idea I had at the beginning of getting as close to a cigarette size/shape as possible. (I think a lot of us set out with this idea). Well, now I've tried the eGo, I can say that it doesn't matter a hoot. The slightly increased size/weight is absolutely no problem at all. In fact, it's a beautifully solid piece of work, and great to handle.
