THANK YOU! I was really worried about that. The test isn't for 2 more weeks. I personally was just gonna tell the truth about my tobacco use but when my agent found out that I quit, she said I'd be fine by the test came around but I'm still weary.

What I've found suggests that cotinine is metabolized in about 72 hrs, but of course everyone is different, which is why I suggested 3-5 days; I have a very slow metabolism myself, since passing 50. My husband once successfully passed a test for "other stuff" by drinking a glass of white vinegar, ugh. I think I've heard that Vit C can help the body rid itself of a lot of bad stuff, and particularly nicotine and its metabolites, but that's a rumor, not sure if I'd trust it. But lots of water can definitely help the body cleanse itself.

Who you tellin'? I live in a house with FOUR other smokers. When I say the 1st week was HELL knowing I could get to and seeing packs of cigs everywhere around me? Constantly smelling cig smoke even though I asked them to smoke outside?? My own bf who would fall asleep with his pack of Newports out in the open? Trust me, will power aint the word of what I had to have around here.
You need to move!! It took about two weeks but my house, clothes, and car don’t stink anymore...you dont realize how bad it smells till you stop!

This is MY house and I have repeatedly requested for them to smoke OUTSIDE. The next step is EVICTION. I love helping the homeless (as it seems my house has become a makeshift homeless shelter), but I can't deal with certain elements of them being here anymore.

I have never went to 0 nicotine ...kinda keep it around 6...but I find the cravings are gone. I have been at it for almost 3 years and even when I started at 18 mg the first month was horrible.

Nicotine is not the bad guy in cigarettes in my opinion. I think I was having withdrawl from who knows what that is in cigarettes. I keep it at 6 cause I like that slight bite that it gives the juice and nothing else. Plus I can go all day if I have to and not want it at all, I mainly do it when I am at home and nothing to do.

Anyone who smoked in my house, even when I was a smoker myself (I always smoked outdoors), would have hit the door THE MINUTE I smelled it. I started going outdoors to spare my son's lungs, but even when he grew up, I still kept it outdoors, so that stench wasn't all over my house -- no way would I have let anyone else smoke in here. Just tell 'em, either vape, or go outdoors, and if you can't manage that, then find another place to live -- TODAY! :thumb:

A big congrats on the 17 days. I think it is simply amazing. I have never been very concerned over the nic amount. In fact, I keep increasing. Just listen to yourself and do what is best for you. You will be able to tell the difference and if you need nic or not. Everyone is different. Whatever it takes to remain free of smoking is what it is all about. Just enjoy.

Here's my 2 cents. When I quit in January, I started with 24 mg juice. When I started subohming a little over a month ago, I quickly went down to 6 mg, which is where I am now. A couple of weeks ago, I tried a bottle of 3 mg. I could tell that I was definitely missing the nicotine, as I was chain vaping that thing like a fiend. Even with that small different in nic level, my body could tell and was craving more. With a combination of the higher usage due to subohming, and the fact that I do vape a bit more at 6 mg versus 24 mg, my juice usage has doubled compared to when I started. At 24 mg, I was vaping about 3 ml a day. At 6 mg, I'm now vaping anywhere from 4-6 ml a day.

Heh.. seems many were surprised to see my mug again... I guess everyone thought I actually was a cat. I could use that new pic, taken at xmas (my old profile pic)... but I'm so OOOOOOLD now... I prefer the one that's showing, taken about 10 yrs ago. :D Yeah I know, age happens to the BEST AND SMARTEST of us (because the others don't make it that long)... but I can at least recall that I stayed halfway decent looking, well into my 40s. :D Since about 50, when I see a camera, I generally turn and run... fast!!!! They only snared me at xmas because I set my camera down for a minute to open a present! :D  Next year, I'm wearing it on a strap!

Ah, but even though it was only 3mg difference, you cut your nic intake in half. While it might not be an exact comparison because of the smaller amounts involved, that's akin to a 24mg user going straight to 12. Quite a difference.

I was a pack a day smoker who went straight to 3mg. I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't easy, but I also was clueless as well, lol. Now that I know better, I know that I have a great machine and I don't really need that much nicotine. I have found the 12 and 24mg to be too harsh a throat hit in my equipment (Eleaf Istick 50W). So generally, 3mg to 6mg does it for me. I just picked up 5 new flavors-15mL each, they're all 3mg and it'll last me a couple of weeks at least.

My friends work for zurich. In Canada, I speak for that. The policies are a mess... If you say you are smoke free that means you are also not using the patch, or pills or vapes or the nic gum etc

So a "non Smoke" in canada does not use stop smoking aids. Vapes are part of this.

Again this is in Canada from 4 UA's in zurich i know personally

Oh, absolutely. I don't do much sub ohm vaping as I just can't get used to, or at least really enjoy, inhaling straight to my lungs. But I do have one sub ohm tank that I really just use for those infrequent occasions that I want to blow some satisfying clouds.

When I got it I filled it with my regular 18mg juice. Boy was that a mistake. I felt like an apprentice sword swallower, it burned so bad. So, I ordered some 6mg juice just for that tank and not only did the throat discomfort disappear but it was also plenty of nic. It's all about the efficiency of your atomizer. On my toodle tanks (mouth to lung inhaling), I'm now recently down to 15mg from 18mg.

I apologize to the original poster--didn't mean to come off as a flipant smarta$$ about lowering your nic content. I honestly didn't know about insurance practices.

I live in a house with 3 other smokers too and found it impossible to let go of the last 3 to 5 cigs a day until I went to WTA infused juice. That worked wonderfully and I've got 3 months in now totally analog free but I have been trying to cut back on that--only because it is such a pain to procure it hereabouts.
