Having a slight Issue with my SX350J chip. I bought a kit from Vaposphere.
Configured it with 2 18650's in parallel, It worked with out issue for a few months now.
I just recently updated to the 2.23 beta software with TI support still fine for about a week.
Yesterday the battery gauge went out now it shows a lightening bolt as if it were charging.
The mod still works and it just a minor inconvenience, But not knowing the amount of battery life left is like driving with out a gas gauge sooner or later I will get caught with a dead battery :(
So I tried to go back to version 2.22, the firmware before the newest and it's the same.
Has this happened to anyone before? Do you think it's a firmware thing? or a chip glitch/malfunction
Any insight is appreciated
Thanks

I'm yet to get my mod with that chip in it but I am led to believe you get the update for the chip from a different site than the update for the sxmini that uses the chip. How much difference or any that makes I'm not sure of.

Someone in one of these threads may no more

Could be something like turning the mod off after upgrading.

Remove Batteries, Hold Fire Button while inserting Batteries to do a Force reset.
Software version shows

At this point, if the Gauge has not returned it is likely a board issue.

Since this is a DIY project, it is unlikely you have a warranty period, but check to be sure.

Thanks for the reply :)
Just tried that No go, still just a lightening Bolt :(
I just got this middle of June, It's like 2 months old
Vaposphere replied to my email they said they would contact Yihi, and let me know
I'm not holding out any hope for them coming good on warranty :(
I didn't do any soldering on the board just used supplied wiring and connected it to a battery sled & 510
I knew when I ordered this chip if any thing goes wrong, I'm on my own.
I just had to try one for my self. The Vaposphere kit was the cheapest I could find for a SX350J mod of any kind. I have 2 original SX350's,(home made mods) Been going good for a long time now Solid Chips
At least it still works no battery gauge isn't the worse thing that could have happened I guess.

Well what do you know :)
This is the reply Vaposphere got from Yihi

I know this problem, a few customers met this problem. an IC on the pcb board damaged. but it won't affact any safety problem. The only problem is that, cannot show the battery status.

They did indeed authorize a New one for me :)

Got my new chip a while back now :) Is anyone having any issues with the Ti mode in the latest test software ?
I'm running a dual Ti coil, in Ti mode & I get dry coil warning a lot and mod will not fire. If I change to Ni mode works perfect.
Anyone seen this issue?
Do you guys think there will be a new firmware any time soon? After all 2.23 is a test firmware.
