Hey guys, 3rd day with my brand new eVic kit. I'm noticing a small issue/glitch with battery life, or at least what my eVic is telling me the battery life is.. The display-screen seems to be showing me different numbers for how much battery life I have left, mainly when I plug it into my computer or charger..

For example, my eVic was showing on the screen that it had like 88% life left, than when I plugged it into my computer, it automatically jumped to 95%. I know it couldn't charge that fast - when I first got it I ran the charge down to like 45%, and it took like 7 hours to charge to 100% (1st time charge), through the wall charger.
... It's not bugging me too much, but it is a bit annoying. Should I maybe take it back into the local store that I got it from??

For what it's worth, my eVic came running on Version 1.2 firmware, and I used that for at least a day and a half before I decided to upgrade to V1.3l ast night.. And I thought I saw this battery life problem happen before but thought it was in my head or something, now I know for sure I saw it right before my eyes. I'm pretty sure I've also seen it drop a bit in battery life very quickly out of nowhere, not much but like 5-15% like before.

Thanks in advance! :2cool:

It also seems to be taking a long time to charge, especially when it gets closer to 100%, and this is where the battery life #% on my eVic seems to jump around the most.. Like it seems right now it's been stuck at 95% for like 25minutes while charging on my comp., I did use passthrough (this could be my entire problem lol) but only took 1 or 2 drags

EDIT: And if you guys are charging your eVic from your computer, while taking drags in pass-through mode, do you have the ability to change it back to "Uploading" mode (so that MVR recognizes it) without unplugging and re-plugging the USB charger/wire??
... Whenever I take a 'pass-through puff' while charging on my computer, I can't get it to re-connect with MVR and go back into "Uploading.." mode without disconnecting the USB and than re-connecting it. I've tried re-connecting it through MVR itself (Connect eVic ->> 'Get Date/Upgrade my ecig') and it gives me a "Hardware not Found" message

Just noticed it again.. It's been hooked up to my computer charging for a couple hours.. I checked to see where it was at - it was at 98%, so I went and let my dogs out, read a newspaper article, and came back to find my eVic now at 97% battery?? It's been on the charger and I haven't taken a drag (it's still "Uploading"), how does this happen?

And another thing, it seemed to take over an hour to get from 95% to 96%, but than only took like 10-15min to get from 96 to 98.. I know I'm being a stickler but this is weird right?

After about 1 month of having my eVic, I bought two extra batteries (same as what came with the eVic) and a trustfire t001 charger. Now it does take about 17 hours to charge a battery on the charger, but the batteries seem to last about twice as long in use.

You, my friend, have a seriously defective charger. None of my 18650's take more than about 6 hours to charge even if almost completely drained, on any of my chargers. I would ask for an exchange.

M_Dub, I can tell you between my eVic, yours, and a friend of mine who has two eVic heads, we all see the same thing. Battery levels just don't seem to be reported very well with our evics. A couple other things you may see: your charge may all the sudden be reported as 00 but the evic will continue to work. I have also seen it where my battery charge could be anything but once I plug it in to charge it immediately jumps to 100% and refuses to charge. Silly thing.
Maybe these things will be fixed in a future software update, but I have never been in a position where I push the button and it doesn't fire so I personally don't sweat it.

Not reading but working is indicator of Firmware corruption.
A re-flash may help.

Varying readings can be as simple as battery recovery to eVic recalculating per remaining voltage read.

Simple things like Pass through vaping or even browsing the menu effect battery charge and can change reading, duration of charge.

Again, after seeing the tiny component design inside the eVic, I will continue to charge externally and remove that stress area from use.

has anyone with battery issues tried using a battery other than the samsung brand provided in the starter kit?
my evic used to randomly turn off, barely work below 40% battery life, and just exhibit quirky behavior. once i got a couple panasonics i am able to drain a battery down to 10% without issue, and i choose to charge them then.
i use a trustfire battery charger (i know not ideal), and they take a fairly long time to charge.

I use three of Samsung batteries (same as what came with the eVic) in rotation, as well as a trustfire charger. And experienced no problems while using the batteries. I recharge at between 7 to 10 %. And they work fine all the way through, I even on a few occasions while not paying attention ran a battery completely down or down to 2 % or so. Maybe You just had some misfortune and got a bad battery.

Nitecore i2s are fairly good chargers for the price, takes about 6-8 hours for them to charge my Panasonic NCR18650Bs from 10% to full. And the battery meter is a bit quirky, it hangs at 100% for about 60 drags and then drops to 99%, but drops 1% every 10 or so drags from there. I've only used a volt meter on my batteries a few times, but they'be never been discharged below 3.4V (even when the eVic was telling me 10%).

I get around
After about 1 month of having my eVic, I bought two extra batteries (same as what came with the eVic) and a trustfire t001 charger. Now it does take about 17 hours to charge a battery on the charger, but the batteries seem to last about twice as long in use.

A friend of mine has the same charger and sees the same charge time. I let him borrow my Nitecore I2 and he says that it charged the batteries in about 5 hours.
After doing some research we found out the the TrustFire does 500mAh for both slots, thats 250mAh per slot, even if you aren't using the other slot. For a 2600mA battery on a 250mAh charge; that takes 10.4 hours! That would be for constant current wich would damage the battery in a short amount of time.

When you calculate for constant current then constant voltage and then a trickle charge that could take almost a whole day to charge.
The Nitecore has a 0.5A*2 on the back so it charges at 500mAh per slot. That is why its half the time.

I recently got a pila charger, and I charged a battery on monday, I haven't been using it as much as I was, when I first got it, but I think my battery is lasting longer then it was. I used to have to charge it every 4 days, I just checked it and it is at 54% right now. At work this week I was mostly using my ego bats, and my provari, but still I think I am seeing more life, for this battery then I was. I really do think that a good charger, does make quite a difference.
