Come on guys, I know you're out there, Thunderbolt is my bud and turned me on to V4L. I read somewhere that Leaford mentioned the factory loaded the carts via a syringe. I've tried it a few times and it does seem to work well; you get to load/refill the carto from the bottom up instead of dropping into the batting and letting it soak through. Taryn if you're out there (the goddess of the Spin technique, which I have used for awhile), you got to try this and report. Leaford (in a thread somewhere) indicated this is how they do it at the factory. The logic is there but the technique hasn't been established. From what I've noticed, you must be careful not to overfill the carto, like in any refil method, but it sure does get the juice down to the bottom, filling the carto well (1ML is what Leaford indicates for a good Dry carto).

Yes, I use a syringe to refill mine. At least, whenever I have a syringe convenient. Otherwise I drip it, and use Taryn's Spin. Either way works well. I don't know what gauge needle, whatever gauge comes on 5ml syringe. And you can get needles at any pharmacy or drug store.

Usually I inject about 0.2ml in each spot, moving the needle to distribute the liquid more evenly. That's not entirely necessary, but if you inject it all into one spot, I would recommend adding a Taryn Spin to make sure there aren't any dry spots.

And, I still let it sit at least 10-15 minutes before puffing on it for best results.

Leaford, did you find out how the cartos are filled in the factory???
I'll go churn thru the posts to see if I missed your report.

They fill them with a syringe. They use a 10ml syringe, filled with 5ml at a time, hold 5 carts in one hand, and inject each one with 1.0ml, one right after another. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Then, all carts get weighed to ensure accuracy of the fill amount.

Has anyone refilled their carts with a syringe? I understand that is how it is done at the factory. I'm interested in what gauge needle can be used and the technique.
My mistake, I meant to say needle in a previos post, Thunderbolt asked about needle size (18g) . Considering the viscosity of the juice I think an 18 guage needle would work.
