So i got a 10ML syringe with a 17g blunt nose needle and figured i'd try refilling a cart with it. I have been using taryn's spin method and it worked FLAWLESSLY, but I find the needle gives a slightly more easy/quick way of doing the filling. With the spin method I would drip 10 drops in, spin, drip 10 more in, spin, and drip 10 more in and give a final spin. I suck up 1ml of juice in the syringe and once the bulk of the juice is in the cart I give it one whirl in the batt bag and remove it. The top of the batting is now dry so i top it off. I used to get some gurgling from juice getting down in the center post using the drip method but using the needle this hasn't happened. just my 2 cents.

Nice! I just might have to give that a try. Where did you pick up your syringe?

Yep, the syringe cart refill method does work well (duh, that's how they are filled when new), but you still can screw up if you squirt in too much. And, I've found slower is better, in other words don't deliver the whole 1ml with one big goosh; you still need to let the batting do some absorbing (Hint: raise the needle as you deliver and not all on one side). If you've ever disected a cart, there's a metal tube in the center that rises up about 1/3 the length of the cart, if the batting isn't absorbing the juice it will run into the tube and then get sucked into the atomizer and create the Oh so dreadfull gurgleing thing. I use an 18 gauge 1/2" needle and it tends to deliver too much too quick if you're not carefull. A smaller gauge (20g) delivers better but is harder to draw the juice into the syringe (you could swap to a 20g after loading the syringe).

With the economy the way it is, that about .002 cents worth, LOL.

I just received the PCC kit yesterday- been lurking for a while and needed something that lasted longer than 10 minutes before it needed a charge soooo after reading everything about V4L - i bought the PCC and WOW. I am grateful to the poster about the syringe filling. SO EASY and works like a charm. I fill the syring to 1ml and stuff it between the filling and the wall of the cart, shoot a little, turn, shoot a little, turn, until the syringe is empty, then spin in the bag and let it sit on my dresser a few minutes.

Needless to say, I ordered the ultimate kit last night and cannot wait for it to arrive. I just started with this whole e-cig thing the week of Thanksgiving and thanks to all of you Vapor 4 Life folks who have posted such great info I now have found "my" e-cig.

I got some "injectors" (syringes with the needle flipped over and epoxy'd in place) from eastmall. Tried refilling with these for the first time over the weekend and I think it worked quite well. Had a bit of trouble getting the needle in on the side of the filler because it didn't have a sharp point. Solved that by inserting a pin and gently pushing the filler to the side and then inserting the syringe into the gap greated.

I mix my juice with 5 drops of VG as it helps with the dehydration and dry throat. So I put my normal 20 drops in one of the end caps, mixed it up and sucked it up with the syringe. On some of the carts it wasn't nearly enough and on others it was too much. I didn't have to spin any of them and with the juice filling from the bottom it's probably not necessary.

I'm still finishing off the last carts I've refilled through dripping and spinning, so I'll report back once I actually vape one of these.

Overall, for me, it was quicker and easier that dripping and spinning.

I've been using the syringe method almost since day one. I hate taking the tops off and just put the needle in on an angle through the hole on the mouth side. Since some of my carts aren't completely dead when I refill I found .75 works best to keep the juice from coming out of the top (when it's not quite dead). I use the "thermometer shake down" method and shake down 4 carts at a time. I can refill about 12 carts in 3 minutes that way. Including cleanup. Syringes and needles can be gotten at online livestock supply places easily. I wouldn't use more than a 12cc syringe because it's too hard to push thick liquid through a 20cc syringe even with the bigger diameter needles. I usually use a 20g 1 1/2 in or 18g 1 1/2 inch since that's what I have a lot of for the animals :)

did you just walk up to the pharmacist and ask for it?
lol
call me strange but i feel funny walking up and asking to buy a needle

I bought a syringe from Walgreens a few months back and after explaining what it was for, was sold a syringe from a smiling pharmacist. About 2 months ago I was moving from Tennessee to Florida, and was pulled over for an expired tag. The cops searched my car and took my syringe even after I told them what it was for.

About a week ago I went to CVS to buy another one, thinking that once again there would be no problem. I explained to the pharmacist what it was for, he left for a second and whispered something to one of his associates. He said he couldn't sell me a syringe without a prescription. When I told him I had bought one at Walgreens a little while back no problem, he told me to go there.

So once again I went to Walgreens and bought a syringe with no problem!

Good idea about the pin. I hate compressing the batting.

That is one nice thing about the syringes bought from the ejuice places. (got mine at HappyVaper) The needles they have are not sharp so they cannot be misinterpreted as drug needles.

Though to be perfectly honest, as much a clean needles help prevent the spread of disease in IV drug users, Shame on CVS for not selling one.

I use syringes for adding juice to 510 carts, since some of the mods I use almost require it. I also use syringes for mixing DIY juices, since they are graduated. I got mine at juicyliquid.com, but we have a walgreens here, so I'll check that out. Lots of places on the web to get them.

Sharp needles are prescription only federally, but some nervous pharmacists seem to think the law includes blunt needles too. It doesn't, but often facts don't change their minds. They are also the ones that won't sell you legal OTC PG too, it seems. But then PG is also available online.

All my bulk DIY liquids are in glass bottles with eurodropper inserts. A 17G needle will fit (with a little force) into the insert to get liquid. This way it the open bottle tips over, it will not spill high-nic juice on everything!! 8-o Makes DIY really fast, safe, and accurate. And the hole in the tip of plastic dropper bottles is generally exactly the right size for a 17 G needle...just poke the syringe into the tip, and it will stay on firmly when you invert it to get juice into the syringe. Very convenient. Even carry a 3 mL syringe in my tote case.

On the down side, syringes in public do not exactly help the label that vapers are complete nutjobs...

incidentally you don't need a script to buy a sharp needle for veterinary use--i've been using a spare syringe i had from a pack of them i got for vacc'ing my dogs. ;)

online here:

& some feed/farm stores sell vacc's for canines, etc, so prob have needles, tho i always buy online, since, well, i have 6 dogs and vacc for friends and family... bulk is always cheaper. :D

Are syringes restricted in the states? Freely available here in SA. I just washed out a couple of the syringes I used to give my wife her injections and dedicated them to PV use.

Disposal is more difficult, not allowed to trash them, so I fill a big bottle and then take it to the hospital and they dispose them.
