I like using a syringe to refill my two pv's, but I think I'm in the minority.
Probably because I use an m401, and 510s are more popular :p

How much you need depends on the model. For my m401 carts, I use less than half a ml each. For my dse601 pipe carts- I can get just under 2ml in there!
I think that 510 carts are something between half and one ml each?

I use a syringe for dispensing, mixing DIYs, and injecting into my 510 carts, since I use a cart mod that does not fill well with dripping. A 510 cart takes, depending on the filler material, about 0.5 mL of liquid. However, if you are just filling carts that have stock filler in them (the poly wool that comes with most), generally you just add juice until it is pooling up on top. Use the needle to sort of work out air bubbles. This may be less that 0.5 mL, from the volume of filler material, and also because the stock filler holds onto a fair amount of juice without wicking it to the bridge, so it never fully empties.

Some people add a "vent straw", which is a coffee stirring straw cut so that the bottom is at the bottom of the cart, cut at an angle, and the top is just below the top of the cart, and its is put between the filler material and the inner wall of the cart. this becomes a very convenient injection port for adding juice with syringe, and allows better circulation of the juice while you vape.

Quick question... where do you get a syringe? Do they have them at the drug store?

Metsy

Some have had good luck asking pharmacists, some not. Legally as long as there is no needle, or it is a blunt needle, it should be allowed, but that doesnt keep some from being difficult.

I got mine online, along with other PV stuff at Juicyliquid.com.

Your mom said not to say...
You can get syringes at any pharmacy. I have never heard of anyone bothering to use one to refill a 510 or other 3pc cart but I suppose there is no reason why one can't use one to refill them.

The people that really see the benefit in using a syringe are the cartomizer users. Syringes make refilling the carts extremely easy, fast, and mess free. As for how much to put in a cart it really does vary depending on what cart, and how dry it actually is. I use GreenCig carts exclusively when using a standard E-cig and those can take a pretty good amount. The best technique is to just take it slow and check your progress by lightly blowing through it to check for excess juice.

I heard about "Tractor supply" as a source for needles. Closest to me was 90 miles. So I just looked for a farm supply store. Found one in Annapolis where I live.

5 18 gauge needles and 5 3ML syringes.....$2.24 including tax. No questions asked....no strange looks....easy. BTW I tried 4 different drug stores with no luck.

On the way out the clerk asked me how many "head" I had.....lol

I've heard of this, and was wondering if it works better than removing the cart filler? If so, how many ML or CC do you put per 510 cart?

It's just easier to stick the needle to the bottom and fill til it gets to the top. You don't have to mess with the filler. I have a needle bottle and it's all I use.
