T3/MT3 mouthpiece failures

Wanted to share my experience with these clearomizers...they work great with many juices, but when I started using Goodejuice's Spearmint (70/30, 18mg), I started having the mouthpieces separate right at the base where they meet with the tank portion of the unit. It took me four clearos (yes, I can be slow) to figure out it was the juice causing the problem.

To test my assumption, I tried putting a small amount of my usual Peppermint/Ice Cold Menthol mixture into the bottom of a small Solo cup (the ones used for condiments and such), as I have quite a few of them laying around, and I believe they are the same type of plastic, just thinner. The Peppermint/Ice Cold didn't seem to cause any problem with the cups, nor did it ever cause problems with the mouthpieces. When I put a small amount of Spearmint or Spearmint/Ice Cold mix in, it would cause the sides of the cup to cloud and weakened the plastic enough that I could easily separate the bottom of the cup from the remainder.

If you have one of these clearos with the clear mouthpiece (the MT3/MT3S usually does), it's easy to see the effect - once the oil touches the plastic, it will cloud up within a very short time. The longer it's exposed, the weaker it gets, and will eventually separate completely.

I know there's a thread on here that lists several juices known to cause this problem - I just wanted to relate my personal experience. In no way am I saying Goodejuice is the problem - the juice is fine, it's just that some oils and the plastic mouthpieces don't play nice together. I may end up switching to the T2 clearo since it has the changeable mouthpiece, and available in aluminum or steel. Any thoughts or experiences with the T2 are welcome. Thanks, all! :2c:

I've never had issues with my two favorite menthols (Goodejuice Ice Cold and Kalamazoo Vapor Shop Menthol Ice), but I'll keep an eye on them from now on since you've mentioned it. If I didn't have such a love for menthol and mint, my T3s/MT3s would probably still be going strong. Funny you mentioned the Protank - I was looking at the Protank II Mini V2 earlier, and I think it's getting the vote from my wallet. It looks like the best balance of looks, cost, and durability.

Thanks for the reply!
