I received an email from forum owner or associate of owner inquiring about a shared account on this forum. Specifically, needing multiple questions answered about my relationship with the people I share a compute with. What the?

From Classwife: Hello;
"shared computer" ...how so please - what is the relationship, is this a secondary account for you ?
I will enter it to records.
Thank you
c.

Do they need my pet goldfishes name too? Enter what into records?

Multiple residents at my house use the same computer. Why do they care? Could it be certain questions may hurt their future $$$.

Here's a fact. Forum owners are not happy with some questions I have been answering. Why? $$$$$$$

People want real, honest, legitimate answers regarding E-Cigarettes. People come to forums like this to learn. Most are killing themselves from smoking analog cigarettes. Sites like these may be a last hope for many. But if you start rocking their $$$ boat, your ash will get permanently booted.

Let's see if they ban me.

Signed,

you're next Kemosabe

Also, if anyone cares, my goldfishes name is, Mr. Tattletale.

UPDATE: Just received another private message from person above wanting to know my specific relationship with the other person that uses my computer.

Update again: Just received another private message from Classwife: Wanting more detailed specifics about my relationship with the other person/s sharing my computer.

Am I allowed to ask classwife questions.
1.)Your thoughts on late term abortions?
2.)Can fish feel pain?
3.)Men who sport handlebar mustaches and the women that are drawn to them?
4.)Latent homosexual tendencies in the Methodist community?
5.) Bjorn Borg, great tennis player or just another pin up calendar for reckless teen girls?
6.)Is lawn bowling for the rich only?
7.) Pho Soup. Positives and negatives?

A single email with a please and a thank you doesn't sound much like harassment to me.

What they want to be sure of, I think, is that multiple people aren't using the same ecf login. It's not really about a shared computer so much as a shared login.

But I am pretty sure this thread is going to close before I can even post this...

or maybe they noticed multiple accounts from the same ip address and just wanted to make sure that one person wasn't creating posts and trolling and that they didn't accidentally ban all accounts from the same ip address.
at least you were asked...a lot of forums would have done just that...they were being nice

back away from the conspiracy koolaid :)

The one account thing is common for forums. The reason is that people with multiple accounts tend to be spammers. I've seen it happen so many times over the years on various forums. Someone opens a second account to spam or troll. I've seen people argue with themselves using two accounts...

Yes, there are times when multiple people from the same household will join a forum, but too many times it's just a 10-year-old thinking they are clever. That's why most well run forums have the rule and why they want you to let them know if someone else from your household is joining.

It's just a common rule for forums.

i agree with every response. they just dont want spammers on their forum, is that so bad??

I agree. Spammers can destroy a website. I just like asking lots of questions. If someone is stupid enough to just accept things as fact then they are just plan stupid. Remember this, cigarette manufacturers hid the true damaging health consequences of cigarettes for many years.
