It could just be juice leaking past the wicks into the chamber. Or, it could be over wicking, and juice dripping off the coil into the air hole.

Agree.....There isn't much as far as o-rings go.

One on the top cap stem to seal in the chamber/chimney top cap
One on the chamber/chimney top cap to seal against the sliding chamber/chimney sleeve
One around the center deck to seal against the sliding chamber/chimney sleeve
One on the 510 center screw
And then the tank o-rings

BINGO!!! I think you hit the nail on the head Rule. I'm using xc-116 in this one. Yesterday I started getting dry/burnt hits every now an then. So I took it apart to dry burn and pull a few strands out of the holes and dropped them into the chamber. When I put it all back together and filled it back up. I saw the dripping. I think seeing the random o-ring on my dresser got me side tracked into I "broke" something.

I had a *shazam* moment this morning as it was laying there in pieces. I put more of the wick back into the holes. Filed 'er up. and all is good!! I guess like I've heard many times in these threads on these devices, wicking, or should I say controlled wicking, is EVERYTHING!

(thanks for the nudge Tibs!!)

EDIT: Thank you too Bap!! We were typing at the same time.

If the chimney cap is over-tightened then the o-ring in there will be forced out of the wick holes causing it to leak like crazy. You will see the rubber start to pop out above the wick the tighter you go. That's the only cause I've seen so far for the type of leaking described. All things should just be finger tight.

lol - i must have struck everybody speechless! ;) was i really the only one being notified that the replacement ss base has shipped in response to my opened ticket at ft?
The response of my ticket, since they are "out of stock", they are going to send me one when they get them back in stock.
